Friends – As some of you have learned first-hand, we had an unexpected guest at our 200th Anniversary celebrations last week. In the past few days, multiple congregants, a staff member, and I have all tested positive for COVID. Whether you were with us for those events or not, I encourage you to take good care of yourselves, test for the virus if you develop symptoms, and maintain a healthy distance from others.
Happily, we are long past the years when this news would be of deep concern. However, we are going to be careful, and avoid congregating until symptoms pass. Please don’t come by the office. Committee and Team meetings should be held online only. In addition to avoiding further exposure, we want to give all those affected a chance to fully recover. So take your sick days and give yourself the time and space to care for yourself.
With all this in mind – and because of my own diagnosis – we are canceling this Sunday’s worship service in the Meeting House. Instead, the Memorial Garden will be open for anyone who would like to gather and chat in that breezy outdoor space. As with other garden services, no refreshments will be served. This will be a BYOC (Bring Your Own Coffee) affair.
Please know that I’m thinking of all of you who are feeling these nasty symptoms, and that I’m thinking of those offering you good care. We’ll all be together again very soon!
