A Message from ORES Principal Denise Francisco
|
To the entire Oak Ridge community, we want to thank everyone for their support of the Oak Ridge Derby! We met our fundraising goal and the students had an absolute blast at the ORE Derby Splash and Dash! Mr. Smith and I had fun too as we got soaked with water for the students meeting their goal! Check out all the pictures on the school and PTO Facebook pages. Creating technology rich classrooms is important to our school and we appreciate your generosity and support. We will now have increased and updated technology in our STEM Lab and many more tablets for students to use for research and learning! All of the money earned through the Derby goes directly into our classrooms and increasing technology in our school! Thank you!
Our parents made Teacher Appreciation Week incredibly special and we want to thank you for all the sweet notes and gifts that you sent to school last week. Our staff also enjoyed an amazing Spring Salad Lunch provided by the PTO and numerous other yummy treats throughout the week. The Oak Ridge community supports our school and we are always appreciative of the on-going partnership that we share.
We also want to wish all of our special moms a very Happy Mother’s Day! Enjoy your day!
Please remember that all Parent Input Letters are due by Friday, May 17th. Please return your form in a sealed envelope and it will be collected and brought to the main office. We also are asking all families to look around your home for any books that may belong to either your child’s classroom or the Media Center and please return those books to school this week. We are missing books from our American Reading Company curriculum as well as library books and we are hoping that many can be located at home this week. Thank you for searching and sending these books back to school.

Art By Me is coming! A very special message from Ms. Hodnett
|
All K-5 students are creating special artworks for a memento program, called
Art by Me, in which all students create artworks of their choice and then you have the opportunity,
if you choose, to purchase items for your family or friends with your child’s art, signature, and 2019 on it. We do this program every year and many use this opportunity to purchase early holiday gifts, Father’s Day presents, etc. Just to let you know, 100% of the
profits from this Art by Me provide 99% of the funding for the Art program here at Oak Ridge Elementary. This includes looms, paint, crayons, markers, paper, and our Art library books. Some of the money is also used to provide special art materials for classroom teachers to use with their classes. Beginning next week on their Art day, all students will bring their Art by Me packets home, which will have their artworks, and order forms, as well as an important instruction letter from me.
This is a very quick turnaround!!!
All orders must be returned by May 21st (morning) to allow
shipment of all orders
by the end of year!

This is the only part of the FitnessGram 9 assessments that they will be doing, just like years past until 3
