In the News

According to a new Edison Electric Institute report, the electric utility sector is undergoing a massive transformation, driven by surging demand from data centers, AI, and electrification.

U.S. investor-owned electric utilities are projected to invest over $1.1 trillion from 2025 to 2029 - nearly matching the past decade’s total - as they race to meet rising power demand. Most new capacity is renewable, though gas projects are gaining traction to support data center growth.

While this report focuses on investor-owned utilities, the trends it highlights are relevant across the entire power industry.
