3/28 FRIDAY 6:30PM — Collectors' Book Salon

Book-lovers and collectors meet in the Rare Book department for the Collectors' Book Salon every final Friday of each month, January through October. We begin casually around 6:30 PM with socializing, light refreshments, and shared bibliolust. At 7:15, an invited bibliophile leads the Collectors' Chat about a topic of her or his particular knowledge and passion. Each Salon, Tony offers a special deal on rare books that is only for Salon guests.

The March 28th Collectors' Book Salon will feature passionate book collector and History and Geography teacher, Lynden Harris. Lynden has collected books since his early twenties, when his book habits began with LDS history, and political and historic biographies. He also accumulated books on automobile and airplane machinery. He lives with nearly 5000 volumes and has an odd goal to own 9000. I wonder whence he got that number. When Lynden speaks about history and contemporary issues, he speaks from extensive reading and his heart. When he acquires additional books, one feels his anticipation. Oh, where will he take us?
