Announcing HWCLI's Digital Innovation Award Honoree

The Health & Welfare Council of Long Island is proud to announce Derek Peterson, Founder and CEO of Soter Technologies, as the first honoree of our 2026 Endless Summer Soirée on the Greens, where he will receive the Digital Innovation Award!

Derek Peterson is a visionary entrepreneur, software developer, and technology leader who has dedicated his career to creating innovative solutions that improve lives. Through his partnership with HWCLI, Derek helped bring to life DoulaNotes, a first-of-its-kind client management platform designed to support Medicaid-enrolled doulas and advance maternal health across New York State.

By leveraging technology to reduce administrative burdens and improve care coordination, DoulaNotes is helping doulas spend more time supporting families while strengthening the infrastructure needed to improve maternal health outcomes. Derek's leadership and commitment to innovation demonstrate how technology can be a powerful force for advancing health equity and creating lasting community impact.

Join us as we honor Derek's outstanding contributions and celebrate the transformative role innovative cross-sector partnerships plays in building healthier, stronger communities.
