Congratulations to Deborah D. and Mia B. for winning July's drawings! They answered the questions I posed correctly. The answers are as follows:
1. Seven of the eight cities I portray in the Angelic Wars series can be found in the first three chapters of the Biblical book of Revelation: Philadelphia, Thyatira, Ephesus, Sardis, Smyrna, Laodicea and Pergamum. The district of Al Birka is fictional.
2.These seven ancient cities can be found in what now is Turkey.
Now for the August drawing:
The Bible informs us that angels have wings. In my fantasy world, I reject the commonly-used, basic "bird" wings because I reason that there most likely is no aerodynamic force in the spirit world. Instead, I designed a type of wing which is a "receptor" for God's Holy Spirit. The picture below is my concept translated by an artist and a photographer. The picture may appear on the cover of End of the Beginning. The size and shape may be stretched a bit in its final form. I kept the bird feather texture and shape but substituted the feathers with real dragonfly colors.
