With the midterm elections approaching, PBS LearningMedia is highlighting resources that help students understand voting and elections at every grade level. For younger learners, this Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood video follows Daniel as he considers his choices, casts his vote for new playground equipment, and sees how the votes are counted. Learning how voting works helps children begin to understand how people make decisions together in their communities.

Media Literacy Week is October 26–30, and it's a great opportunity to help students think critically about the information they see and share every day. PBS LearningMedia offers free resources to support those conversations, including this PBS NewsHour Classroom video exploring “AI slop” and the growing amount of low-quality, AI-generated content online. Building those skills helps students become more thoughtful about what they watch, read, and share.

The all new PBS LearningMedia Middle School Science Collection is here! Educators can explore videos, simulations, models, and interactive lessons for grades 6–8 across physical, life, Earth, and space science. Aligned with NGSS, the collection includes real-world phenomena that can spark student curiosity and investigation while making science concepts more meaningful. Resources also support science and engineering practices and introduce students to related STEM careers.
