Last weekend marked the close of Casting for Recovery’s 28th retreat season, and as the year comes to an end, our team wants to reflect on and celebrate this remarkable journey. Each retreat brought together women for the purpose of creating a supportive community of laughter, connection, and healing. Through shared experiences and empowerment that fly fishing fosters, participants found strength in each other and the restorative power of nature.

Whether standing knee-deep in a peaceful river or gathered around a warm campfire, every participant’s story weaves into the fabric that is Casting for Recovery:

"While fishing and being in the water I never once thought about cancer."

"The sharing. The exposure each woman chose to share. The strength one gave to another. The no judgment. The bonding. And I could go on and on. Mostly, the feeling of love."

- 2024 Participant

"I am so grateful to have been able to participate in CfR. This was probably the single most healing activity I have participated in since being diagnosed. I will be riding the high of this this week for a long time to come."

This season would not have been possible without our supporters, volunteers, guides, and donors, whose generosity and commitment allowed us to offer these transformative experiences to more than 800 women this season. We are deeply grateful for each of you who believes in the power of healing through nature and community.

Thank you for being part of the CfR family and for helping us continue this journey of hope, connection, and resilience.

With gratitude,

The CfR Team
