Happy New Year!
We hope you had a wonderful holiday, and 2021 is off to a great start!
Personally, my family suffered an unbearable loss. My father passed away two weeks ago. He was a man of kindness, intelligence, and vision. He was a man with respect, integrity, and tolerance. He was my inspiration. I wrote a tribute to honor my father. You can click here to read the full article. The memories of my father will always inspire me to be the kind of person he was.
As I mourn my loss, I am also persevering and embracing the new year with hope, optimism, and growth.
We want to wish you success in your business and in your personal pursuits. However, there is nothing more important than your health and well-being. We would like to start our first newsletter of 2021 emphasizing the importance of exercise and physical activities. I found joy in practicing yoga and climbing the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains. May you find your favorite fitness routine to stay healthy and strong!
Here is to a safe, happy, and fulfilling 2021!

EXERCISE: THE BEST PRESCRIPTION MONEY CAN'T BUY

Now during the pandemic, staying healthy is a top priority. Regular exercise and an active lifestyle are important to maintain physical and mental health. Studies show that as little as 30 minutes a day of physical activity can prevent cardiovascular disease, reduce stress, and boost your mood. Here are a few activities you can do to improve stamina, build strength, and improve flexibility and balance.
Here is why:
Improve Stamina: Activities that make your heart beat faster or increase your breathing are good for your circulatory system. These activities improve your heart's ability to circulate oxygenated blood and the body's ability to use oxygen.
Build Strength: Building muscle not only helps the body use blood sugar more efficiently, but also helps prevent and control diabetes. As we age, strong muscles can be the difference between walking unassisted or using a walker!
Improve Flexibility and Balance: Good balance and flexibility can be the reason you avoid a fall and break a leg or arm. Falling and broken bones are on the of top causes of disability and loss of independence.
Here is how:

PRACTICE
YOGA AND MEDITATION
Our personal favorite! Yoga combined with meditation not only improves your strength and mobility, but can lower stress, improve quality of sleep, and keep your mind healthy and sharp. Two Trees Wellness offers yoga and medication programs. To learn more, please contact us.

EXERCISE
Having a structured exercise routine that includes strength training and cardio workout can build muscle strength, regulate blood glucose levels and blood pressure, and prevent diseases.
A few of our favorite workouts:
Peloton: It is much more than just biking. Peloton offers a wide range of classes including strength, running, HIIT, or yoga.
KINRGY: Combines yoga, meditation, and dance all in one. We've tried it and loved it.
Sculpt Society: Dance, sculpt, sweat, repeat. This sounds like a program we'd like to try!

COVID-19 VACCINATION UPDATES
|
|
 |
The CDC unveiled an interactive map at the end of 2020 that shows how the COVID-19 vaccine rollout is going in each state. The map is updated daily and shows how many vaccine doses each state has been allocated and how many shots have been administered. The true number of total Americans vaccinated is likely higher than the map shows, as it takes time for CDC to gather and process the data, but there is no doubt the current rate of vaccine administration needs to increase.
Vaccination has the ability to save lives and as pharmacists and healthcare providers, we should use our resources, knowledge, and expertise to help improve vaccine accessibility however we can.
