Opening Day Parade Route Practice Runs - April 19th and 26th - 10AM

TYEE Yacht Club is planning on having two practice parade route runs and have invited all clubs to join them in order to be ready for this year's new route for the parade. Kat Petterson who is the Fleet Captain for TYEE is organizing this and is offering the option for all clubs to join them on one or both days to participate. They will be using Ch. 68 for the coordination and the form up area will be in front of the TYEE YC. Ephasis will be on the transition from Parade Judging area formation to single file for the downriver portion can be worked out. If you aren't familiar with Kat, she is also the Columbia Fleet Leader for Christmas Ships with her husband Pete. Avid and knowledgeable Boaters that we can all learn something from. If you have any questions for Kat, she can be reached at Kat@CRYA.us.

We are blessed to have the Nautical Safety Foundation working all over the area to help fund lifejackets for the many Lifejacket Loaner Stations in the area. As we get ready for boating season to begin as well as all of the water-based activities think about a donation to the NSF. They are all volunteer and provide over a 1000 life jackets each year to help keep all of these Loaner Stations full with up to date and safe jackets.

BoatUS just did an article on creating lifejacket loaner station in your area with their help. I have included the article link here as a reference to why we have such a great asset in the NSF. Please help.

BoatU.S. Registers its concerns over the recent NOAA Staff and Budget Cuts.

Every boater should be concerned about the recent cuts to the NOAA Organization. Many of us count on them for up to date and accurate forecasts for the weather as we prepare for open water trips and long passages. It is an easy read and lets you know why we should not accept this.

Please read the full article for a good explanation HERE

Time-Tested Tips for getting your Boat Ready this Spring!

A great article to help you get your boat in shape for the Boating season. You can find the article HERE

Content in your Club's Newsletters that all Boaters should read?

We can't see every club's internal communication, but we have to think some of the articles would be great information for all boaters. If you find that article of interest, please forward it to cryanews@gmail.com after getting approval to share. We can all be more informed.
