THIS WEEK IN HOUSTON

August 27–31, 2025

Houston, we’ve been spoiled—2025 has given us the coolest summer in years, and this week closes out one of the best Augusts in recent memory. As we roll into September, the city is buzzing with art, music, film, and community gatherings. From a birthday tribute on the airwaves to block parties, film screenings, and gallery openings, there’s no shortage of ways to celebrate the season and our city.

Whether you’re catching The Houston Hour at noon, dropping the needle on vinyl, joining a wellness walk by the bayou, or diving into big nights of art at TSU, HMAAC, and the Orange Show—this week’s lineup is a reminder of why Houston’s creative energy never slows down.

Scroll through, mark your calendars, and make the most of these final August days. And, remember, check out my website for even more.
