Thanks to all who joined us at Midland Hills Country Club yesterday for the CHASE Recognition Event, celebrating the amazing work done by contractors in AGC's Construction Health and Safety Excellence (CHASE) partnership with MNOSHA! CHASE contractors continue to exhibit the gold standard in safety in the industry, achieving an incredible 1.67 collective incidence rate in 2025, compared to the statewide average of 3.2. Jason Kunz energized attendees with a presentation on The Leadership Advantage: Seeing What Others Miss.
More photos will be forthcoming next week, but enjoy this small preview for now!

Who You’ll Find at the 2027 Minnesota Construction Summit
More than 550 people came to the Minnesota Construction Summit last February, and the mix is what makes it worth two days out of the office: the general and specialty contractors you bid against and build with, the owners deciding what gets built next year, and the suppliers who keep jobs running. It's the one time of year when all of them turn up together in the same room.
| |
They’re coming for the sessions. Peyton Kringlie will walk through what actually happened when LS Black Constructors put AI agents to work inside their ERP, estimating and project management systems. Blue Ethos will cover active threat preparedness and how to de-escalate a situation before it turns. Minnesota’s State Demographer will lay out the workforce numbers every firm in this state is about to run into, and attorneys from several of the state’s top construction law firms will take on the contract issues landing in your inbox right now.
That’s just four of 26 sessions over the two days, which each kick off with keynotes from Alex Weber and Dr. Jermaine Davis.
| |
The trade show spreads onto the lower level of the RiverCentre this year, which is how we made room for heavy equipment - a first for the Summit - along with the tools, materials, technology, and the legal, insurance, auction, HR, accounting, safety and software partners our members work with all year. Breaks and meals are scheduled on the floor, so there’s real time to walk it. Registration is open now.
| | Attendees: register by November 25 and save $50. | | Exhibit space and sponsorships are still available. | |

MnDOT-AGC Joint Technical Committees
The MnDOT-AGC Technical Committees have kicked off their fall meetings, bringing contractors and Minnesota Department of Transportation staff together for important conversations about the future of our transportation infrastructure.
The Concrete and Grading & Base Committees recently engaged in dialogue on issues impacting their respective segments of the industry, from specifications and technical considerations to broader, big-picture challenges and opportunities. These collaborative discussions provide a valuable opportunity to share perspectives, address concerns, and strengthen the partnership between MnDOT and the contractors who deliver Minnesota’s transportation projects.
The Bituminous and Bridge Committees will meet in December. Contact Laura Ziegler for additional information.

Important Updates to Minnesota Mechanic’s Lien Law
Minnesota courts recently issued two important decisions that may impact contractors’ ability to recover attorneys’ fees under the Minnesota mechanic’s lien statute. Contractors performing work in Minnesota should be aware of these cases to help understand the circumstances in which they may, or may not, be able to recover their attorneys’ fees to enforce their mechanic’s lien. One Big Night. One Great Sendoff.
After 40 years of service to Minnesota’s construction industry, Tim Worke is getting ready to pass the baton - and on December 1, we’re going to celebrate him the way he deserves.
Join us at Union Depot for this year’s AGC Holiday Reception & Tim's Retirement Celebration as we bring together the people who have been part of Tim’s remarkable career - colleagues, friends, industry partners and plenty of familiar AGC faces.
It’s going to be more than our traditional holiday gathering. We’ll raise a glass to another year in Minnesota construction, enjoy some extra fun throughout the evening, and take time to recognize Tim and the impact he has made on our association and our industry.
If Tim has been part of your construction story over the years, we hope you’ll be part of his sendoff.
And for member companies looking for another way to honor Tim, several special sponsorship opportunities are still available. From the shuttle bus and photo booths to reception sponsorships, it’s a fun way to put your company’s name behind a memorable evening - and help us make Tim’s final AGC party as CEO one for the books.
Register, bring some colleagues, and come ready to celebrate. We want to fill Union Depot with the people who have made the past 40 years so meaningful.

AGC HR Forum
On Wednesday, Director of Member Services, Heidi Sedlacek, hosted an HR Forum at Rachel Contracting. It was a jam-packed agenda. Participants learned how HealthSource Solutions creates and scale wellness programs. An expert team from AGC affiliate member Bassford Remele relayed information on changes to the OFCCP (Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs) and discussed the MN Paid Family Leave Act. Finally, our own Director of Organizational Wellbeing and Culture, Yolanda McIntosh, shared a powerful example of the training she offers to member companies. For those planning monthly safety talks or all employee spring meetings, contact Yolanda for information about scheduling.
After the forum, the group stayed for a little networking and snacks! Thank you to our host, Rachel Contracting and to HealthSource Solutions and Bassford Remele for sponsoring our networking time!
The next HR Forum is schedule for Wednesday, Nov. 18 where we will be at Knutson Construction: AGC HR Forum: November 2026.

AGC wants to gauge your interest in participating in an OSHA 30 for Construction Training, January 11–14, 2027. This course would be in person at our office in St. Paul, with various industry subject matter experts presenting. If you or someone on your team would be interested in participating, please “register” them prior to November 15, 2026.
OSHA 30 has become a staple in safety training for the construction industry, designed for construction workers, supervisors, project managers and others with safety responsibilities. First Aid, CPR, and AED Training
On a jobsite, the first few minutes of an emergency belong to whoever is standing there. Not EMS - your crew. This half-day session on January 7 gives you the training and the confidence to act in those minutes, whether it's a cardiac arrest, a serious laceration, or an exposure incident. Cintas instructors lead the class with hands-on practice and a 1:1 student-to-mannequin ratio, so everyone gets real reps and personal coaching - not a video and a quiz. Learn more and Register
