One day, Mary asked me why my parents named me “Elizabeth,” which we all know means “my God is abundance.” True, Zechariah and I have been childless for many years, and many people here treated me with disdain for this shameful condition, in their eyes. But I have never felt that way in my heart. I have felt that I am “enough,” and that I have an abundance of life and joy to share.
Ever since Mary first walked into my house several weeks ago, I seem to be full of blessings for others, flowing from the many blessings I have received in my long life. And today, I am especially hopeful for my child. Indeed, I know that, with God, nothing is impossible.
Many blessings to you, my dear neighbor, on this beautiful day!

The Individual in the Institution:
A Creative Workshop on Faith and Belonging
New Sunday School Class beginning January 12
This interactive class invites you to explore how to identify and nurture your personal faith beliefs while understanding how they align with the broader Presbyterian Church (PCUSA). Drawing on diverse resources— such as our Book of Order and Book of Confessions to lesser known Reformed Theologians who helped shaped PCUSA theology, we will engage in a deep reflection on our personal journeys of faith. In this class, you are encouraged to ask questions, love your doubts, and join in thoughtful discussion as we explore together what it truly means to be Christian within the context of our church community.
