Dear SKAL USA Presidents,
Our Auditors have found that the Skål USA EC and ISC's actions rescinding our letter to Skå International surrounding the Kenya AGM, was not in line with our bylaws. In other words, we cannot universally rescind your votes.
As per instructions from our SKAL USA Auditors, I am requesting that you please vote on rescinding our letter dated April 23 in which your club has voted to join SKAL USA in determining there was no quorum at the Kenya AGM. As our ISC Councilor Holly Powers has detailed, we primarily made the decision to rescind the letter based on her recommendation and to save the Miami World Congress.
Please vote one of the following:
1. We choose to rescind the letter
Or
2. We choose to keep the letter in place.
If we do not hear from you by Monday, May 20, we will count your vote as an agreement for rescinding the letter.
I apologize for the confusion this matter has caused. Our intention was not to override your votes without your consent. But unfortunately our ISC Councilor and EC were under time constraints imposed by the ISC meeting, as well as Holly receiving incorrect information from Skål international, which led us to believe we had the ability to rescind the letter without a vote from you.
We value your membership and your voices, whether in agreement or dissent, and recognize we are only here in service to you and your members.
Best regards and Skål,
Lisa Conway
