Hooked on Vest Knitting

I'm hooked on vest knitting! I just finished my new Skye Vest knit using Koma from Noro! I love the colors of the yarn and I can wear it with anything. The smocking stitch was fun (and simple) to knit and I love the look of it.

I'm teaching a vest knitting class to Learn to Knit the Cabled Bracken Vest that starts on Monday February 9th.

This Saturday, January 31st, is going to be a busy one at the shop. Bianchi will be pouring their wines as part of the Cambria Arts & Wine Festival. And we'll have a Build A Kit Bar out front featuring the yarns from Urth and Gusto!

Introducing Wonderland Yarns!

I quickly fell in love with the hand-dyed mini-skein kits and kettle-dyed merino roving from Wonderland Yarns.

Wonderland Yarns are inspired by the colorful adventures of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland and the ever-breathtaking landscape of southern Vermont. They are based on Brattleboro, VT.

The hand-dyed mini-skein kits are available in 2 bases...Mary Ann is a Sock/Fingering weight consisting of 85% superwash merino/15% nylon. And Mad Hatter is a sport weight 100% superwash merino yarn. I designed the Wonderland Mad Hatter Beanie pattern specifically for the Mad Hatter yarn.

And for the spinners and felters, I've added their 100% Merino Roving. It's 21-micron and comes in a 4 ounce braid. This fiber is extra super-soft with a delicate crimp that gives it a springy texture. Grab a Drop Spindle and start spinning!

Cambria Art & Wine Festival is January 31st

The Cambria Arts & Wine Festival is this Saturday January 31st. Ball & Skein & More is partnering with Bianchi Wines this year.

In addition to wine tasting, I'll be out front at the Build a Kit Bar featuring the yarns from Urth and Gusto! I have beautiful samples for each kit project with patterns and yarns for you to pick from to create your own custom project!

Build your kit while enjoying a day of tasting local wines around town! Tickets are required for the wine tasting, but the Build a Kit Bar is FREE!
