People in the community come out every every Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., to the Mississippi Farmers Market for the friendly faces, a fun shopping environment, and foods so fresh that they were picked or prepared just hours in advance.
Farmers, craftspeople, bakers, and growers gather to sell their products. Shoppers find meats and animal products that come from animals raised right here on Mississippi soil, creative arts and crafts, baked goods and desserts, and sauces and condiments that leave taste buds shouting! Not to mention, there is easy access to a home-style breakfast from The Farmer's Table, which is located inside the Market.
To alleviate the risk of COVID-19, the Market will continue operating with its modified layout with vendors facing outward. This layout helps shoppers practice physical distancing. By not having to walk inside the Market to shop, shoppers can now easily and quickly buy what they need from each vendor's booth in an open-air setting. Other preventive measures in place include pre-packaged produce, hand sanitizer access, and vendors dressed in protective gloves and masks. In addition, customers can even pre-order items for convenient pickup by contacting the participating vendors listed above. Saturday is a great day for shopping.
