Seghesio
125th Anniversary
Sonoma County
Zinfandel
2020
$19.99
reg. $25.99
An expressive burst of aromas of deep dark fruits lead into layered tones of lifted red fruit and a soft, luscious mid-palate. A juicy, vibrant entry with notes of black cherry, black raspberry, fig, baking spice and fresh Santa Rosa plum, is interwoven with supple, textured tannins and acidity on the long, complex finish. Pair well with grilled steak, sausage and peppers with cheesy polenta, and pasta dishes with tomato-based sauces such as baked rigatoni or pappardelle Bolognese. Pairs well with semi-hard cheeses such as dry jack – our favorite is from a local Sonoma producer, Vella Cheese Company – and aged cheddar or gouda.

Not Yet Rated
In typical Noma fashion, this scraggly and ancient Eastside Lodi situated vineyard eked out a scant .5 tons/acre of vibrant fruit in 2020. The low-yields, sandy soils and small canopies on these 100+ year old vines make for a sunshine-filled expression of Zinfandel filled with dark plum, spice and loam balanced by remarkable natural brightness. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in puncheons to retain freshness, this is a wonderfully distinct example of how good Lodi Zinfandel can be.

MEAD SPOTLIGHT:
PASIEKA JAROS
| |
|
In a country with a rich mead culture, Poland's Pasieka Jaros stands among a select few still producing mead built on old Polish tradition. A true family business, every member of the Jaros family contributes directly to the production of their namesake products. In 1991 the family embarked on mead production after already beekeeping as far back as 1978. Not only do they facilitate the raw ingredients and produce the mead, but they are also responsible for the beautiful handmade ceramic vessels that accompany the finished product.
Let's do a quick mead primer!
At its fundamental basis, mead is just water and honey mixed at different ratios and then fermented to various alcohol strengths. Sub-styles of mead are created when different types of fruits, herbs, spices or other adjuncts are added, giving way to intense sounding names like Metheglin (baking spices), Melomel (general fruit), Cyser (specifically apple), Acerglyn (maple syrup), and Pyment (specifically grapes) and many more.
In the context of Polish mead, variations are determined by the water to honey ratio:
Półtorak
formed by mixing one part honey with a half part water. Due to the high concentration of sugars, fermentation takes a long time and mead matures after about nine years of aging.
Dwójniak
formed by mixing one part honey with one part water. Dwójniak is a sweet honey with maturation lasting more than four years.
Trójniak
formed by mixing one part honey with two parts water. This is semi-sweet mead, with maturation lasting around a year.
| |
|
Dwójniak AM
$32.99
Mead in its purest form.
Made from a ratio of two parts spring honey to one part water.
Dwójniak Maliniak
$34.99
Raspberry (aka Maliniak) juice replaces 30% of the required water in this fruit forward mead. Created from the highest quality multi-flower honey.

Martin House Brewing Co.
Ft. Worth, TX
Hailing from Texas, Martin House brings us one of the best pickle beers in the country alongside a collective of sours, fruit beers, and imperial stouts.
Best Maid Sour Pickle Beer
$12.99 | 6pk 12oz can
That's right! Regarded as one of the best pickle beers in the country, Martin House infuses this beer with brine from Best Maid Pickles, a Texas family favorite since 1926.
Bockslider Texas Bock
$12.99 | 6pk 12oz can
Bockslider is the official beer of Fort Worth's own Toadies. An easy-drinking, copper-colored, lightly hopped beer perfect for on-stage, backstage, or anywhere your rock music takes you.
Campfire BA Imperial S'mores Stout
$7.99 | 12oz can
Campfire is an imperial version of S’mores Stout. This roasty stout has everything you would enjoy in a freshly made s’mores: chocolate, marshmallows, vanilla, graham crackers, and cocoa powder. It wouldn’t be a campfire without a little smoke, so we added a slight amount of smoked malts to the grain bill for that perfect touch. Finally, we aged it in whiskey barrels for 4.5 months. The result is a flavorful stout fit to be enjoyed on any cold Texas night in the woods or at home.
12.9% abv
The Penguin BA Imperial 'Moose Tracks' Stout
$7.99 | 12oz
At Martin House, we love creating barrel-aged stouts, high abv brews, and beers with full flavor. The Penguin is the combination of all three. This beer was inspired by moose tracks ice cream. We started off with a very high abv stout base and added peanut butter, vanilla, lactose, and chocolate. It was aged in whiskey barrels for four months. The result is a dark chocolate, full on swirl of dessert flavors in a can. Be careful though. When this penguin sneaks up on you, it's a chilling encounter you won't forget.
15% abv
Raspberry Cobbler Pastry Sour
$13.99 | 6pk 12oz can
Raspberry Cobbler is a classic Martin House brew. We took our pie beer base which contains graham crackers, lactose, and vanilla. We added some raspberry puree and viola! Raspberry Cobbler. The slightly higher abv at 6.2% is a nice touch as well.
The Salty Lady Gose
$12.99 | 6pk 12oz can
The Salty Lady is our interpretation of a Gose – a rather obscure, tart, salty German style beer. Our version is soured in the kettle with a lactic culture. The tartness is tempered by salt additions from around the world and finished with coriander for a citrus and earthy touch. We ferment with our house saison yeast to put our own little spin on the style. Its flavor is reminiscent of a sports drink at the end of a 110 degree day.
True Love Raspberry Sour
$12.99 | 6pk 12oz can
True Love is our second sour beer that is now available year-round. Similar to the Salty Lady, it is kettle soured and very refreshing. Raspberries are added in the fermenter which provide a purple hue and slight sweetness. Give it a try. You'll fall in love with True Love, one can at a time.
