2026 ASPRS Gulf South Region May Board Meeting

Mr. Onur Karaca from Dept of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, University of Houston will be joining us as our guest speaker.
Presentation Title: InSAR-Based Land Subsidence Analysis & Hyperspectral Remote Sensing for Coastal Water Quality Monitoring
Mr. Karaca's Bio: Onur Karaca is a PhD candidate in Geology at the University of Houston specializing in InSAR and hyperspectral remote sensing. His research includes InSAR-based surface deformation analysis across multiple urban and coastal settings using Sentinel-1 data. As part of the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) project, he also develops ML-based models to estimate total suspended solids in Texas bay systems using PACE, EMIT, and PRISMA satellite imagery.
