Here's some news you can use! We offer a reminder of the May 9 Fundraiser at Brix Cider and May 16 SWWAP Pop-up program and rally celebrating those who resist fascism. We also have a recap of the recent May Day event and invite SWWAP supporters to our Frolic Parade entry featuring the Forward Marching band.

Called To Fight Fascism Abroad

A documented 416,800 died fighting fascism abroad in WWII. 71,278 Americans were wounded in action. We remember the 16 million Americans who served during World War II. Famously called “The Greatest Generation” by journalist Tom Brokaw, they came of age during the Depression and fought bravely against fascism to reserve freedom for all.

May 16 is National Armed Services Day

It is a day to honor those who are currently serving and those who have sacrificed by serving in the armed forces. It's a day to scrutinize the reasons war is waged. The most recent incursion in Iran was NOT authorized by Congress. Polling suggests by a wide margin that Americans are against the war, (see most recent polling data on a host of issues HERE)

A reckless and unauthorized war has been initiatied by Donald Trump. Service men and women are paying the cost.

The spirit of Joe Hill was alive and well at the Blue Mounds Opera House on May Day. Attendees were entertained and educated about labor's proud history. We thank Tom Kastle for adding our May Day event to his schedule. Tom will be performing at Brix 🍎 Cider on May 17 from 3-5 pm.

The annual Mount Horeb Summer Frolic Parade is a celebration of community! Village residents and their guests line the streets as entries representing local organizations and businesses pass through downtown Mount Horeb on their way to the Frolic grounds. We invite you to march along with the Forward Marching Band. We have selected light-hearted signs celebrating democracy. Let us know if you want to be part of this fun event.
