Connecting, Learning, Serving

United Women In Faith Coffee Club– We will gather in the church Library on Saturday, May 3, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, for coffee, tea and conversation. It will be informal, so come when you can and leave when you must. We will also have Mother's Day cards to sign for individuals in our church family who are homebound. Please RSVP to Lisa Robbins.

United Women in Faith Is on the Move In June! Gather with the UWF on Saturday, June 7, at 10:00 a.m., for breakfast at Milano's, in West Springfield. If you don’t have time for a full breakfast, stop by for a quick cup of coffee or tea. All women of the church are invited, as well as youth age sixteen or older. Bring a friend!. Please contact Stella Magusiak, to let her know you will attend. Hope to see you there!

Spiritual Life Retreat– The Northern Virginia United Women in Faith will host this event on Saturday, June 7, at 9:00 a.m., at Oakton UMC. The theme for the retreat is Spiritual Care for Caregivers of Loved Ones with Dementia and presenters include Maria Delpizzo, RN, and Pamela Phillips, Certified Dementia Practitioner. For more information, please contact Myrna Meling.

Exploring God’s “Kin-dom”– The Lord’s Prayer can point us to living a more Christlike life, and we will have an opportunity to examine it more closely on Saturday, July 12, at 9:00 a.m., in Hottle Hall, as we gather for “Exploring the Lord’s Prayer As a Spiritual Practice for Social Transformation.” This event is sponsored by the United Women in Faith and is open to anyone age thirteen or older. The speaker is Dr. Jason C. Stanley, an ordained deacon in the United Methodist Church, who will help us explore the depths of this powerful prayer. For more information, please contact Myrna Meling.

Mission U Have you attended a Mission U event in Virginia or in another area of the U.S.? Whether you have or have not, you are invited to "Practicing Hope Together," a weekend mission study opportunity with Virginia United Women in Faith. Men and women age 18 and older are welcome! The curriculum explores how we find hope, particularly when it seems hard to find. The event will be held in Richmond from July 25-27. For more information, please click below.

Gather with us for a fun-filled adventure on the open road. Along with an adventurous pup named Scout, we will take thrilling journeys to exciting destinations and learn that, no matter where we go, God is always with us. Please also prayerfully consider volunteering, as it will take many hands to make the trip memorable for all. Click below to register and/or volunteer. Beyond the Book, a small group sponsored by United Women in Faith, invites you to gather with them in the Library for food, fun and fellowship usually on the fourth Saturday of each month. They did not meet in April, but encourage women to read “The Moment of Lift: How Empowering Women Changes The World,” by Melinda French Gates. The book will be discussed at a meeting later in the year. On the third Saturday in May, May 17, at 10:00 a.m., they will meet to discuss “City of Peace,” by Henry G. Brinton. For more information, please contact Nancy Miller.

Need a break from your hectic week? Timeout is a new group for parents and guardians who are experiencing the joys and challenges of raising children. Meetings are informal and without agenda, aiming to be a resource for fellowship and discussion with others on a similar path. The group meets from 9:50 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. on Sundays, in room S6.

The church received the bed pads pictured here and would like to find them a good home. If you or someone you know can use them, they are available behind the receptionist's desk in the entryway outside the Sanctuary during office and Sunday worship hours.
