President's Message
Gordy Robinson MMR®
Happy Canada Day, fellow model railroaders!
On behalf of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA), I want to extend warm wishes to all our Canadian members and friends as you celebrate Canada Day!
As the maple leaf proudly waves, let's take a moment to appreciate the incredible railway heritage that has shaped a vast and beautiful independent nation. From coast to coast, Canada's railroads have played a vital role in connecting communities, fostering industry, and weaving the very fabric of the country.
Model Railroaders around the world have crafted layouts depicting the Canadian prototypes, detailing fleets of Canadian locomotives, or bringing to life a bustling urban scene from Vancouver to Halifax, and your dedication enriches our hobby.
May your Canada Day be filled with joy, camaraderie, and perhaps even a little time to enjoy your layouts. Here's to many more years of building, operating, and sharing our love for model railroading.
Happy Canada Day!
Sincerely,
Gordy Robinson MMR®
NMRA President

| | Wanted: New Instructors for Modeling With The Masters® | | |
MWTM® is a well-known educational series held at the National and Regional levels to teach participants to improve their craftsmanship in this hobby. Sessions range from scenery techniques, structures using various media, track-laying, and improving existing items available to the model railroader.
MWTM® is seeking a new cadre of instructors to participate in this activity. We are seeking younger MMR®s to participate in this program. Quite frankly, some of us are aging out of MWTM® and we would like some fresh ideas to offer participants.
If you are an MMR® who is interested in teaching your hard-earned skills to other model railroaders, please contact us with a brief resume of your skills.
Qualified instructors must:
- be an MMR® willing to commit to participating in all National NMRA events in the future, as well as some Regional events.
- have participated and instructed in “make-and-take” sessions at the National, Regional or Divisional level.
- have evidence of teaching skills in your past.
- be ready to participate in the set-up of the teaching room (usually one or two days prior to commencement of the sessions) as well as teaching (or assisting) for a three-day event that operates from 7am to 10pm with only short breaks.
- be ready to suggest and create new and innovative projects to teach participants who will range from the beginner to advanced modelers all in the same session.
- be willing to participate as an assistant in the next National NMRA convention.
If you are interested, please send a brief resume of your model railroading experience, as well as a statement of potential projects to:
Clark Kooning, MMR® at : ckooning@msn.com
Peter Youngblood, MMR® at: santaferailway@aol.com
