Making the best use of Full Monte
Barbecana has three sets of resources to help customers make the best use of our solutions
. Installation and User guides
cover the technical use of the tools.
White Papers
cover the theory behind what the tools do, and most recently we added '
How to...
' documents that explain the use of specific features in greater detail. Topics include: Interpreting results, Sensitivity Analysis, Conditional Branching and more. These documents have been created based on questions that have been presented to our support staff.
It's worth reminding customers that each version of Full Monte has two guides: The
Installation Guide
and the
User Guide
. The Installation Guide covers topics that are unique to the particular scheduling tool being used. For example, Field Mapping, the process of saving results to Microsoft Project Custom and Enterprise fields is covered in detail in the
Full Monte for Microsoft Project Installation Guide
rather than the User Guide. Saving data to Primavera P6 User Fields is covered in the
Full Monte for P6 Installation Guide
. The
User Guide
is common to both versions and covers features and functions found in both.
It's always a surprise...
It's an unfortunate fact that Schedule Risk Analysis will always predict a less than 50% chance of achieving the delivery date shown in the schedule.
Always
. If the analysis shows a 50% or greater chance of on-time delivery based on the dates in the schedule, something is wrong. The dates in the schedule are what we aim to do but, uncertainty
will
impact delivery and makes them unrealistic. This is where making commitments, at specific levels of confidence, using Schedule Risk Analysis comes in. Somewhere between 80% and 90% are common confidence levels. The difference between the date forecast in the schedule and the forecast from schedule risk analysis at, for example, 80% confidence is a great way to define
Schedule Margin
– effectively a contingency for uncertainty/risk.
COVID-19
Barbecana is founded on a simple principle. Great Customer Service. This guides how we develop our software and how we support our customers using the software. Hurricane Harvey destroyed both our Houston office and our COO's home and yet we still released software the day after the flooding started. Since that time we have adopted a fully distributed working environment and it is our intention to provide uninterrupted support services during these challenging times as COVID-19 impacts daily life. We have recorded an uptick in the number of end user supports calls as our clients also adopt distributed working and access to their own colleagues and support services is not so immediate so it's easier to call us. So far we are still achieving our goal of addressing every support issue, with a knowledgeable representative, within 60 minutes during business hours, despite the increased load.
If any customers experience difficulties with obtaining license activation keys from their internal I.T. support groups, please contact Barbecana at

Barbecana is offering free one-on-one training sessions of either 30 or 60 minutes to anyone that would like to learn about or update their skills with Schedule Risk Analysis to help make the most of your time during the COVID-19 crisis. The sessions will be online using WebEx. As the sessions will be one-on-one, we can tailor the session to your requirements. We can provide trial software for you to practice the skills you learn. Subject to availability and may be cancelled if our resources become unavailable. To sign up or for further information please contact
