As we look forward to 2026, we want to acknowledge all that you helped us to accomplish in 2025!

In 2025, GGYP...

• Kicked off the year with our Kickoff Party at Bragging Rights with 135 attendees
• Hosted 7 Connect mixers, gathering nearly 450 young professionals collectively
• Hosted The Annual Mega Mixer with nearly 180 attendees(prior to the rain!)
• Hosted 3 annual Holiday events(Friendsgiving, Halloween Party and Holiday Party)
• Supported 41 different local non-profits through volunteering, advocacy, fundraising and drives
• Hosted 3 local Presidents/CEOs for our Pancakes & Presidents events, teaching YPs about career & professional development
• Hosted 6 Coffee & Conversations, which focuses on creating intentional connections that lead to personal & professional development
• Hosted 2 different seminars- Burnout Prevention & Intervention & Smart Money Moves
• Hosted 8 Discover Events that featured Gainesville's nature, local businesses and fun activities to encourage community engagement
• Adopted a road with Keep Alachua County Beautiful(NW 83rd, aka the street that Santa Fe College is on)
• Through all of these events, we supported 27 different local businesses, creating exposure and leading to positive economic impact
• Launched a podcast and filmed 11 episodes with Tu Fiesta Radio which are on YouTube and Spotify

And that's just a "bite-sized" version! We are looking forward to an even better 2026.

WEDNESDAY, January 14th:

Community Connector

4:30pm-6:30pm at Santa Fe College Blount Hall

Leadership Gainesville is a 10-month long leadership program that gathers you and 50 other members of the community. LG is the longest running leadership program in the state of Florida and is hosted by your very own chamber. We are currently on Class 52!

Join us for a mixer with LG 52, alumni of LG and Santa Fe College.

This is a great opportunity for you establish new connections and learn more about different groups within our community. 

Drinks and light bites will be provided. Come by for a little bit, stay for awhile, either way we'd love for you to join us!

SATURDAY, January 17th:

Volunteer with Lubee Bat Conservancy

12:00pm - 3:00pm at Lubee

Join us for our first STRIVE event of the year! STRIVE events focus on philanthropy and civic engagement. 

This month, we will be volunteering with Lubee Bat Conservancy. Lubee is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving bats and their habitats through conservation, education, and awareness, with a focus on children and community engagement.

So, come out, take a tour and lend a helping hand!

January 15th - 18th:

Volunteer with Gainesville Sports Commission for Jimmy Carnes Indoor Track & Field Meet

Alachua County Sports & Events Center

Gainesville Sports Commission is looking for volunteers!

This event feature college, high school, and youth athletes, plus top collegiate competitors from across the country during the NAIA Championships and YOU can be right in the middle of the action! Whether you’re earning service hours, supporting your community, or just love a high-energy sports environment, these meets are the perfect place to get involved.

Why Volunteer?

• Each volunteer hour = a donation to the work we do with the Greater Gainesville Young Professionals! aka YOU'D BE HELPING TO KEEP THIS GROUP GOING STRONG and we'd love you for it!!
• Be part of a large-scale indoor championship-level event
• Gain hands-on experience in sports + event operations
• Enjoy free snacks and meals during your shift
• Support athletes competing at elite levels!
• Receive a Gainesville volunteer t-shirt!

Volunteer Roles Include:

• Assisting officials with field events: High Jump, Pole Vault bar adjustments, Long Jump sand pit, Shot Put area
• Helping with hurdles and transitions between events
• Clerking (lining up athletes for races)
• Front Gate ticket scanning and wristbanding
• And more, no prior experience necessary!

THURSDAY, January 22nd:

5th Annual Kickoff Party

5:30pm-8:00pm at Bragging Rights

Every year, the Greater Gainesville Young Professionals host a big ole' kickoff party to start the year off right!

Since GGYP was established in 2021, it has gathered thousands of young professionals across the region to CONNECT, STRIVE, THRIVE & DISCOVER. At a growth of outreach rate of 84% every 90 days, we can confidently say that this group is growing every day. We are proud of the space that we have created for our community's young professionals and we look forward to celebrating many more years.

We will be coming together at one of our members' favorite places, Bragging Rights Amusements. Everyone that attends will get unlimited playing on the hundreds of classic and modern arcade games, pinball and carnival games there. We will also have plenty of hors d'oeuvres and as always, everyone's 1st drink is on us. 

We would like to thank our Investors, First Federal Bank, GatorCPR, LifeSouth and UF Health for being unwavering supporters of our organization.
