Good Evening Members,
Over the past few months, I have had the opportunity to travel the state and meet many of you. One thing has stood out to me everywhere I go. FPMA is not just an association. It is a family.
I have heard stories about members helping one another through hurricanes, fuel supply challenges, and difficult times. Even when you compete in business, there is a level of respect and support for one another that is hard to find elsewhere. That says a lot about the people who make up this industry.
This week, we were reminded of just how special that bond is. We learned of the passing of two longtime FPMA members, James Bishop "Jimmy" Davis Jr. and his son, James Bishop "Jay" Davis III, who passed away only days apart. Their family shared this message with us:
"My Dad Jay died, then my Grandad Jimmy last week. Four generations of Florida oil jobbership expired to the final retirement home."
Four generations in this industry is remarkable. The Davis family helped shape Florida's petroleum business for decades, and their legacy will not be forgotten.
On behalf of FPMA, I want to extend our heartfelt condolences to the Davis family and all who knew Jimmy and Jay. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Pierce Schuessler, CEO
