Helping Families Stay Together
A Safe Haven for Newborns’ mission is to be the safety net for those women, and girls, that find themselves with an unexpected pregnancy and facing dire times; assisting them anonymously with no questions asked. The goal is to provide them with the information to make an informed decision and refer them to the resources that provide the services they need in their community; such as shelter, counseling, prenatal care, or parenting classes.

Sometimes, all you need to do is listen — carefully. Earlier this year, a young woman called Safe Haven for Newborns’ confidential, multilingual Helpline. She was expecting twins, and they were struggling financially; they were even considering giving the twins up for adoption because they feared they could not provide for them. After speaking with her, Nick reached out to his agency partners in her community and placed her in contact with counselors and other agencies that could assist her. When the twins were born, a short time later, because of the support and guidance they received from the Foundation, they decided that the best solution for them was to keep their new family intact.

Safe Haven for Newborns put together a package of diapers, infant clothing, wipes, and other essential items — that were donated to the Foundation — and sent a care package for the twins. The family was grateful for the much needed items for their twins and for the help and support that was offered to them. No questions were asked other than, “What can we do to help?”

A Safe Haven for Newborns believes in rendering aid not only to the newborn, but to the mother. Helping her cope with her situation and reminding her “she is not alone”; there are people who care about what happens to her and to her infant child. When she surrenders her newborn in the arms of a medical professional or paramedic, they will give her information that is intended to help her cope with one of the hardest decisions of her life. The literature that is given to her offers her alternatives on how to cope with what she is experiencing. And, again, no questions asked.

A Safe Haven for Newborns wants what is best for the mother and the newborn. That is the reason they will help anyone who calls. By giving the mother options, two lives are saved.
Happy Parents of Twins
I want to thank A Safe Haven for Newborns in my family’s name for their excellent attention and for all the help they provided with diapers, clothes, wipes, among other things, for our twin babies.

Thankful for the foundation, may God continue to illuminate the way to continue helping many more people, just how you’ve done with us.
