ARTS SCHOLARSHIP

The Scott Lawler Memorial Scholarship for the Arts is awarded to an Immaculata graduate who will honour Scott’s memory by pursuing some form of a post secondary arts program with the same love and energy that Scott possessed.

Scott was an enthusiastic lover of and participant in the arts. He was involved in music, theatre, film, the written word, and everything else creative. He is an example of using one’s God given talents to the utmost.

While his life was short lived, he has left us with much to celebrate and remember. The recipient of this scholarship will be chosen by a panel of staff from the various Immaculata arts programs based on past artistic contributions both in the school and the greater community, artistic ability and potential, and enthusiasm as well as other contributors.

How can you support this scholarship?

  • Tell everyone you know.
  • Buy a ticket to our latest
  • performance at www.showtix4u.com and click on “DONATE” to automatically donate whatever you choose on your credit card.

  • Contribute to the development of the arts at our school and be a living example of Scott’s love of all of the arts.
  • Apply for this scholarship and attend a post secondary arts program.

ACHIEVEMENTS

MATHLETES

Last Friday, six Immaculata students competed in the British Columbia Secondary School Mathematics Contest hosted by Okanagan College.

We are very excited to congratulate Jethro Sia on placing first in the senior division!

He also scored first in the Kelowna regional for the Kangaroo math contest! Well done Jethro!

Also, an honourable mention for Clare Sturgeon who placed fourth in the junior division, scoring just shy of the third-place score.

IT'S GREAT WEATHER FOR READING OUTSIDE, OUI?

Madame PLs grade 8 class enjoys our grounds outside while reading their French books. Gotta love Okanagan weather!

TENNIS TEAM

The tennis team headed to Kamloops to play in the Valley Championship. It was an awesome day! Lots of great tennis, food, laughter, and fun! We won against Fulton from Vernon (11-0 for us), and then a hard-fought loss (2-9) against Kamloops, in the end we came in second.

Small School. Big Family.

TOONIES FOR TUITION

Did you know that, across Canada, elementary and secondary students have varied access to Catholic education? In some provinces and territories, Catholic education is fully funded. In others, it is partially funded. And in still other provinces, no government funding whatsoever is provided for Catholic education, making it a luxury out of reach to many students and families.  Read More
