Week of July 26th, 2021
What can CLI help you do?
School of Rock classes hosted by CLI's own Jen (Jack Black) Swicker-- "We went to Sandusky Jackson Street pier, where they were setting up for concert, down musicians alley and to the music history museum.. Jen M. Was standing in front of window display of memorabilia of Jim Morrison from the Doors.
She told me her cousin Bob is related to the late Jim Morrison. I did not confirm this to be true though." Later, another School of Rock class visited Schoepfle Garden and Osborn harmony park.

Meanwhile one of the Fit You classes spent some time cardio drumming . . .
While yet another CLI class jumped on board again with SJSI's Adaptive Sailing Programs and had a great day on Lake Erie!
John's usual excuses & apologies--

CLI's first of cornhole tournaments went off without a hitch last Friday. Thank you to all who came to help and to play! But the real thank you goes to everyone who jumped in to assemble and seal 16 boards at the last possible minute (because that's how we roll sometimes)!

The next tournament date is in 2 weeks on August 6th. Hope to see even more teams. We had 11 teams this time, so the winners walked away with an easy $110. The more teams, the bigger the prize. CLI was able to raise another $300 toward making Kenilee Lanes completely wheelchair accessible. So far we've raised almost $24,000, which we figure is about 20% of the way there. I didn't realize it until I saw the national day calendar for this week, but on July 26, the Americans with Disabilities Act turns 31. I'm proud to be part of CLI and our many local partners as we work to make our larger community accessible to all.

That's all I have. Stay safe, have a good week & keep those hands clean!
John
Would you like to join CLI for some fun virtual activities?
It's a bunch of loud fun!
Firelands Local LLC Update:
I am not sure what happened with the weather. We went from monsoons to fall weather.

Last week we launched our new website. I hope everyone had a chance to take a look. We received some very positive feedback. Thank you to Jennifer Smith for her help with the website.

Last week we shredded 9200 lbs. of paper and recycled 1300 lbs. of cardboard. We also completed 27500 units. This week we have two purges scheduled. If you are not aware of what a purge is, well I am glad you asked. A purge is a pickup that is much larger than a normal bin pickup. Purges can range from 200 lbs. to over 20,000 lbs.

I would also like to remind you that our next drop off is scheduled for Wed. 8/4 from 9-2. Be sure to look for the blue arrow.
