At Dyed In The Wool you will find the most exquisite yarn in a plethora of brilliant color.

I would love to share my colorful world with you.

November, 2026

The leaves are changing and I am enjoying the beautiful reds, golds, oranges and yellows. I am also loving the crisp mornings and evenings and warmish afternoons. They give me a chance to start wearing my fingerless gloves again. This past week I fell in love with the super soft Savannah yarn that I used for my Scottish Barley mitts again. I don't know which pair I will wear this week. So many choices and I want to wear them all. I think they are one of my favorite knits. I like working the small projects that can be made relatively quickly.

This past week we had a lovely Mystery Box from Mira at Baah Yarns and she sent a wonderful sample of the Mekong River Beanie. It was so soft and squishy with a nice detail swirling round the hat. Elvira noticed that the pattern was considered for advanced knitters. I was curious to see why this was, so naturally I picked up a skein of Gray Onyx and started to make one. The stitches themselves are not overly complicated but there is a change in the pattern in the middle of the round and markers are being moved a lot. That being said there are ways to simplify the movement of the markers and to break down the pattern into simple and small bites. I finished the Gray one on Thursday, made another on Friday. On Saturday I designed a cowl in Smokes On You and yesterday I created another variation of this cowl. It was so much fun and the Sequoia yarn is a delight to work. Large needle knitting is great for a change.

My Store Sample bins are overflowing so I am going to have a Store Sample Sale. There will be two days, Wednesday, November 11th between 1pm and 3pm and another on Saturday, November 14th, from 4pm until 6pm. Tell you non-knitting friends too.

On Friday, October 23rd, there will be a preview night to kick off Malabrigo Days. Reservations are required. On Saturday, the 24th, bring your needles and play with all the amazing yarns from Malabrigo. Saturday is open to all who want to join in the fun.

There are a few new yarns for Fall that are starting to arrive. We have assorted colors of sequined yarns that can be knitted by themselves or knitted in with your yarn to add a small touch of sparkle. Great for the holidays. There are also two yarns that are to be held with your yarn to either add color or texture. More about them later in the newsletter.

All Berroco yarns will be discounted by 25%. This is for in-stock only yarn and does not apply to any special orders.

If you haven't already joined the Ravelry Dyed In The Wool Group you might want to join as this is where I announce any weather delays or weather closures. I also use our Facebook page.
