It'sTime to Check Your Information
We are working to update member records
Please be sure to let us know if there are changes to be made to your account.
We are currently working on the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce 2027 Business and Community Resource Directory, and we want to make sure the information we print in the book for you is as accurate as possible. We also get thousands of online searches of our member directory each month so the more accurate your data the more likely new business will come your way.
Your membership provides excellent opportunities for your organization to attract new customers and share information with our community and the region. Completing and keeping your profile accurate is critical to gaining increased visibility and exposure. All the information we capture is important, but keywords are critical, and they need to be accurate and complete for your business to show up in online searches.
An email was sent out to all members 10/6/2026 to review the information we have. You can also just email the corrections to us at robinmarie@dochesterchamber.org.

Eastern Shore Land Conservancy conserves 285 acres in Windy Hill
Easton, MD, November 2, 2026 — J. L. and Annette Gannon and Alexis Brooks have worked with Eastern Shore Land Conservancy to permanently conserve 285 acres in Windy Hill, a tiny community just east of Trappe in Talbot County. The conservation easement was made possible through the
Maryland Department of Natural Resource’s Rural Legacy Program, funded through Program Open Space.
The easement protects 140 acres of prime farmland including conservation reserve program (CRP) buffer strips. 139 acres of deciduous forest, managed with a forest stewardship plan, enclose the farm’s grain fields and provide 100-foot-wide buffers for 3,900 feet of Ash Bridge Branch, a tributary of Miles Creek and the Choptank River. Many of the farm’s trees are more than 100 years old and are home to Delmarva fox squirrel and vulnerable forest interior dwelling bird species. Six acres of impoundments
offer rest and food for migratory waterfowl.

Monogram Pillows and Waterfront Keepsakes: Printing Home Accessories in Dorchester County
If you design your own decor and want it printed on pillows, mugs or other home accessories, you can work with a local embroidery or upholstery shop, a screen printer, an online design-and-print service, or a print-on-demand marketplace. Each handles a different mix of quantity, fabric and finish. Before you pick, check what the product page says about sizes, whether you can preview the design, and how the order is packed and shipped. For one-off gifts and small batches you design yourself, online services that offer printed pillow cases let you place a photo, monogram or illustration on the fabric yourself.

Dom Flemons Live at Handsell
Dom Flemons, the Grammy-winning musician, will be coming to Dorchester County to perform at the Nanticoke Historic Preservation Alliance’s annual meeting on Saturday, November 7. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at the new Three Cultures Center at the Handsell Historic Site (4837 Indiantown Road) in Vienna, MD.
Known as “The American Songster,” Flemons is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and acclaimed performer of traditional folk, blues, country, and bluegrass songs. A former member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, he won a Grammy Award in 2010; his solo albums Black Cowboys and Traveling Wildfire were also nominated for Grammys. Last year, he was inducted into the American Banjo Hall of Fame.
At Handsell, Flemons will perform a carefully-selected repertoire that includes tunes from the Traveling Wildfire disc. Drawing on his deep knowledge of music history, the hour-long show will weave together songs and stories and highlight the contributions of Black artists to American roots music. Flemons will be available for a meet-and-greet after the show.
The event begins at 1pm with NHPA’s annual meeting, which will last approximately 30 minutes. The Flemons performance starts at 1:30pm.
