New Student Board Reps join MUSD Board of Education


Milpitas Unified School District's 2024-25 School Year Student Board Representatives Meiyi Chung of Milpitas High School, Elijah Sandoval of MUSD Middle College High School and Maricela Gavidia of Calaveras Hills High School joined the MUSD Board of Education, Superintendent and Executive Cabinet at the dais to open the new school year at the August 27th meeting.

Summer Interns Allie Klaydman, Kanykei Burkhanova, Sohan Patel and PaktoPaco Lau recognized by the Board of Education and District leadership for contributing to the workflow at our MUSD District offices throughout this summer 2024.

Kiwanis Club of Milpitas


Kiwanis Club of Milpitas and Kohls were honored by the Board of Education and District leadership for organizing the 2024 Kohls Care for Kids to benefit our MUSD families.

MESO student team


Milpitas Elementary Science Olympiads (MESO) team 'Curious Minds' was recognized by the Board of Education and District leadership for achievement at the Milpitas Elementary Science Olympiads competition. 

STEMGirls Milpitas HS


STEMGirls Milpitas High School was honored by the Board of Education and District leadership for hosting STEMPower summer camp in support of our younger generations of MUSD students.

Ocean Supermarket


Minh Tan Quach of Ocean Supermarket and New Kim Lee Fast Food was honored by the Board and District leaders for supporting MHS Special Education Dept. MUSD received a $5,200 grant from the Columbian Foundation.

The Board ratified the Superintendent's recommendation of Antonio Fuentes as Coordinator at Milpitas Adult Education School.


"I really look forward to the student-focused strategies and building this Culture of WE," said Fuentes, who has 26 years in the education field.

Jonathan

Payne


The Board ratified the Superintendent's recommendation to appoint Jonathan Payne as Interim Administrator in Charge of Calaveras Hills High School.


"We're definitely blessed to have this opportunity for the kids to go to a school where they can see the community, school board and district values them," said Payne.

Robert Richardson


The Board ratified the Superintendent's recommendation of Robert Richardson as Assistant Principal of MHS Extension at MUSD Innovation Campus.


"I came to this district to take on the dream that is innovation," said Richardson, who has 17 years of experience as an education administrator.

Highlights

2024 Summer School Report

Members of the MUSD Learning & Development Team provided an overview of our 2024 Summer Program. As part of the Extended Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) grant, MUSD prioritized supplemental instruction and supports for students, including targeted support for students identified as belonging to one of the following groups: low income students, English language learners, foster/homeless youth, students with disabilities, disengaged students, and/or students who are below grade level. This summer MUSD ran several programs to meet students’ needs including, but not limited to: ESY, credit recovery, bridge and acceleration programs.

Pomeroy Elementary School Admin Team of Principal Nichol Klein and Assistant Principal Vanessa Banh shared this video presentation for a brief glimpse into their school community.
