To help keep you informed of what is happening at Middlesex Centre we send out regular updates on our website and social media accounts, and through our newsletter.

June 24 - Road Closure: Glendon Dr. at Vanneck Rd.

As part of Middlesex County's installation of a new roundabout later this summer, on Monday, June 24, Glendon Dr., Vanneck Rd., Jefferies Rd. and Coldstream Rd. will be CLOSED at the intersection to allow for hydro poles to be relocated.

Happy Canada Day! Canada Day Holiday Hours

In celebration of Canada Day, the Middlesex Centre office and the Komoka Wellness Centre will be closed July 1. Waste and recycling will be collected on your regular collection day.

Fires & Fireworks in Middlesex Centre

Planning an outdoor fire or fireworks for your Canada Day celebration?

For fires - review the Open Air Burn By-law Quick Guide for outdoor fire rules.

For fireworks - follow the rules set out in the fireworks by-law, the recommendations in the Consumer Fireworks Chart, and the manufacturer's recommendations for safe discharge.

Remember: Fireworks are only permitted ON CANADA DAY - not all weekend.

Heritage Park Barn Quilt - Submit your Designs!

The barn at Ilderton's Heritage Park is being painted this summer. As part of that face-lift, Middlesex Centre is looking to the community to suggest designs for a barn quilt.

Barn quilts are large painted versions of fabric quilt blocks that are installed on the side of a barn or on posts in rural areas. They tell a story about the people and the community through their design.

Submit your barn quilt design by June 30 either on the municipal website or in hardcopy to the Ilderton or Coldstream libraries.

At Work in the Community

Summer is a busy time for Middlesex Centre!

Starting June 24, the back parking lot at the Delaware Community Centre will be closed to allow for new asphalt and a new security gate. The work will also see the installation of pickleball lines and nets, making it a dual-purpose space. The new dual-purpose lot will re-open in mid-July.

Work is also underway on improvements to our road network, including

construction on Hyde Park Rd. between 15 Mile Rd. and Elginfield Rd. The road is expected to be closed until August 16.
reconstruction of the bridge on 9 Mile Rd. between Highbury Ave. and Adelaide St. North. Work is expected to wrap up by July 22. Additional bridge and culvert repairs will continue throughout the summer.

Drivers are reminded to obey posted road closure and detour signs. Driving on closed roads carries a fine, and more importantly, puts construction crews at risk.

Summer Fun at Splash Pads in Middlesex Centre

Splash pads in Ilderton, Kilworth and Komoka are now open daily from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Adult supervision is required.

Adult Pickleball in Komoka

Join the fun at Komoka Community Centre this summer! Adult pickleball runs Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings starting in July. Sessions are suitable for all levels of play.

Fires Don't Take Holidays

As you set off on your summer adventures, remember that fires don’t take vacations. Make sure there are working smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms where you are staying, be that a vacation home, cabin, trailer, RV, or cottage. Also make sure that you and your family have a fire escape plan.

Water Testing Volunteers Needed

We're looking for residents to volunteer their homes to test for lead in the municipality's drinking water system. This is routine testing to ensure the safety of our municipal water system.

Tri-County Heritage Club Ilderton Truck and Tractor Pull

The Tri-County Heritage Club hosts their annual tractor show July 12-14, 2024, at the Ilderton Fair Grounds. Farm-Stock Tractor and Truck Pull takes place on Saturday evening.
