There’s a popular brand of high-quality raincoats that, famously, never has sales. They never offer promo codes; they never decrease their stock when it’s in low supply. Except—

Black Friday.

Once a year, on Black Friday, the brand has a huge raincoat sale with markdowns on every style, color, and size.

Understandably, a lot of customers wait all year to buy the raincoats in November. It’s predictable. It’s safe. It’s known.

So…is the company making a lot of money by holding this promotion? Or are they losing money, because customers are waiting to purchase the coats only at the reduced price?

It’s difficult to figure out how to effectively utilize and spotlight seasonal markdowns. So, as we head into the busiest shopping season of the year, we wanted to offer a few insights.

Don’t Be Too Predictable

Obviously, many brands have sales every Black Friday. We’re definitely not against that! But, unlike the raincoat company, you can stay a little unpredictable. You could have a surprise sale again in the middle of the year or add an extra 5% off that’s announced closer to the sale day. The excitement of following your brand to find out about the best promotions and special occasions can be enticing to customers.

Create Urgency

Nothing drives sales quite like a ticking clock. Consumers are more likely to act when they feel like they might miss out on a great deal. Incorporating time-sensitive language such as “only while supplies last” can encourage customers to commit.

Highlight Social Proof

Social proof is a powerful tool in driving conversions, especially during a season when consumers are more likely to purchase based on peer recommendations. Spotlight customer reviews or testimonials alongside your promotional content to build credibility.

Seasonal promotions are a great way to boost sales and capitalize on the holiday shopping season. But it’s important to stand out from the noise while making sure that you actually entice your customers (so that they don’t just feel like they should wait until the next big sale in a few weeks).

This November, it’s the perfect time to put these strategies into action. For custom tips to advertise your upcoming sales, reach out to our team....” only while supplies last!”

Did you attend Wicked Manors? We hope you got to experience the spooktacular fun!

We’re thrilled to have partnered with our client, The Pride Center at Equality Park, for their annual Halloween celebration. This year, we had the pleasure of designing a new logo for Wicked Manors and bringing the "Island of Misfit Toys" theme to life through the website, t-shirt design, event signage and promotional graphics.

It was a night of creativity, community, and celebration – and we loved being part of it!

We had a fantastic time at the Boca Chamber Business Expo!

Events like these are invaluable for connecting with local businesses, sharing our services, and building relationships within the community. We loved chatting with everyone who stopped by our booth – and of course, handing out some fun prizes!

Thanks to everyone who made it a great event. Here’s to more networking and growth together!

On Wednesdays, we wear pink!

The Mad 4 Marketing team proudly rocked pink in October to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We showed our support for all the incredible survivors and those who are currently battling this disease. Early detection saves lives, and we were committed to spreading awareness and love.

Should you Spend More for your Whole Team to Attend Events?

It’s a question that’s long been debated: Does size matter?

You know what we’re talking about, of course! The amount of presence that your company has at industry events.

An out-of-town conference can cost your company a pretty penny in travel, hotel, and food. That’s not even counting the cost of attending the event itself. And then there are awards banquets and galas, where a smooth talker will certainly try to sell you a table if you’re even nominated or sending more than a few folks. That’s potentially thousands of dollars! Read more...

Do Checkmarks Still Matter? 6 Social Media Verification Pros and Cons

Social media verification, symbolized by the coveted blue checkmark, was once a badge of authenticity. It had a direct impact on a business’s digital presence, indicating that the account was real, associated with the legitimate business it claimed to represent, and could be trusted.
