“Businesses don’t ask for special treatment — they ask for clarity and predictability." On Thursday morning, Governor Matt Meyer signed an executive order launching the Delaware Permitting Accelerator, a statewide effort to streamline and coordinate permitting for critical infrastructure projects.
Projects designated as Priority Projects — including housing, energy, broadband, water and sewer, and mixed-use developments — will receive faster, parallel reviews across agencies, clear accountability, and defined decision timelines, while maintaining existing environmental and public-health standards. The initiative is aimed at reducing delays that drive up costs, slow housing production, and hinder economic growth, helping Delaware remain competitive with neighboring states that have more efficient permitting processes.
