Event Description: Women writers and historians are changing the face of Women’s History in the Twenty-First Century. The important roles women have played in history have often been buried or lost, sometimes intentionally, sometimes out of neglect. New research and new books by a growing number of women historians and authors shine spotlights on those forgotten women. Frances Perkins is a perfect example. Her momentous accomplishments as the first woman member of a US Presidential Cabinet positively impact every single American, yet most do not know who she was or what she did. She is also the perfect example of how the power of women’s writing is changing the landscape of Women’s History.
