Kings EDC at the CCVEDC Marketing Mission in Atlanta, GA

On April 2026 Kings County EDC joined with Fresno County EDC, Madera County EDC, and Merced County as part of the Central Valley EDC for a marketing mission in Atlanta, GA.

The delegation worked collaboratively to showcase the strengths and opportunities of California’s Central Valley, meeting with commercial real estate brokers and site selectors to promote the region as a premier location for business growth and investment.

Through these outreach efforts, the group highlighted the Central Valley’s strategic advantage, including available industrial sites, skilled workforce, transportation infrastructure, and competitive business environment, to help attract new companies and investment to the region.

This mission reinforced the Central Valley EDC partners’ shared commitment to regional collaboration and economic development, positioning the Central Valley for continued growth and job creation.

Kings EDC at SelectUSA 2026 Summit!

On May 2026 Kings EDC attended SelectUSA Summit in Washington DC.

The 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit welcomed more than 5,500 attendees from 100 countries and 55 U.S. states and territories, all gathering to take advantage of in-person networking and informative programming on key industry topics affecting the FDI community.

Attending the SelectUSA Investment Summit with the California delegation, representing Kings County EDC, was a great opportunity to promote our region and showcase the strength of California’s economy.

We met with 30+ companies from across Europe, Asia, Brazil, West Africa, and Jordan in sectors including food processing, ag-tech, and advanced manufacturing.

Kings County EDC generated strong leads by highlighting our competitive advantage: business-friendly environment, affordable costs, skilled workforce, quality of life, and programs like the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ).

Looking forward to turning these connections into real investment and economic growth for our community.

Opportunity Zones 2.0

The Opportunity Zone (OZ) Program was established under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 to encourage the reinvestment of capital gains into economically distressed communities. The program offers preferential federal tax treatment for capital gains invested in qualified projects located within designated low-income census tracts.

Eligible investments may include new real estate construction, rehabilitation of vacant or underutilized properties, equity investments in operating businesses, and infrastructure or energy-related projects, among others. The Opportunity Zone incentive is designed to reward long-term, patient capital that generates sustained economic growth, job creation, and community revitalization in historically underserved areas.

Local Authority Recommendation Form for Opportunity Zones 2.0 is now available.

Completed forms must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on July 25, 2026. Please note that incomplete applications and submissions received after the deadline will not be considered.
