Register for Zoo Camp

Spaces are filling up, so don’t miss out on Zoo Camp this year!

Summer Zoo Camps are an amazing opportunity for kids from kindergarten through grade 6 to learn about animals, care for nature, and make memories.

Camps are five days long, Monday through Friday, and include discussions, games, activities, and animal encounters in an age-appropriate setting.

Camps are available for children entering grades K-1, 2-3, or 4-6. Before care and after care may also be available, depending on section. Pick the right camp for your child and give them the experience of a lifetime!

Big Cat Tracks

You might start to notice some changes around the tiger and takin habitats. That's because we’re expanding the Zoo to encompass the wooded area to the east and planning to break ground on a new Eurasia habitat! The primary goal is to create new, more naturalistic habitats for Amur tigers and Amur leopards, as well as expand the Sichuan takin habitat and bring in a few new Eurasian species. There will be new bathrooms and play space too!

This is the first time we've expanded the Zoo in many decades, and we're really excited about what this new expansion means for our mission of education, conservation, and improving animal quality of life.

A New Zoo Baby

We’re thrilled to welcome a new Sichuan takin kid this spring. This is the fifth kid for mom Yi-Liu, and sixth for dad Caboose.

Sichuan takin are a vulnerable species native to Tibet and the provinces of Sichuan, Gansu, and Xinjiang in the People’s Republic of China. Their habitat is mid- to high-altitude mountains, with dense undergrowth and rocky hillsides. They eat shrubs, grasses, and leaves. Takin range in size from 3-4 feet tall at the shoulder and 550-770 pounds. Male Sichuan takin have a distinctive golden coat, while female takin are brown.
