Dear Suzanne,

As we move through this period of change and instability, especially as it relates to food access and economic uncertainty, I wanted to provide you with an update on TABLE’s operations and how we’re continuing to serve more than 1,125 kids every week.

While we are not directly impacted by the federal cuts, we do anticipate indirect impacts to how we serve our kids and how we manage our waitlist that is now over 80 children.

These include:

  • Rising food costs and increased strain on our local food supply chain, which could impact our ability to consistently source the volume and quality of food we provide.
  • Grant dollars being reallocated or becoming more competitive, as funders adjust to changes in federal cuts and priorities.
  • Greater demand for TABLE’s services, as families feel the effects of reduced SNAP benefits and higher prices on not just food but also everyday necessities.

I want to also share that tomorrow, Tuesday, May 20th, TABLE will be joining a National Day of Action, voicing our concern over additional cuts to the current SNAP program that would inevitably affect more local children. Join us by sharing our social posts or posting on your own!

Even in the face of these challenges, I want to assure you that TABLE remains a reliable source of healthy food and stability for the more than 1,125 children we serve every week. One parent recently shared...

“There was a day where I said to myself what are we going to eat today because we didn't have anything in the fridge and I opened the door and there was the box of food.”

Since serving our first 12 children in 2008 to now, TABLE has grown and adapted in the face of uncertainty and volatility. Today, our commitment is stronger than ever to continue ensuring there is food at the doorstep of every child we serve week after week.

You may be asking how you can help?

Our community's support is more important than ever. Here are a few ways you can make a difference:

  • Support our Spring Appeal to provide fresh food to local kids. Each week, we deliver the highest quality fresh produce thanks to our partnerships with local farmers. Together, we’re creating a circle of care rooted in nourishment, equity, and dignity that feeds kids and supports the farmers who grow our food.
  • Advocate for access to healthy food - use your social media channels - and follow TABLE - to raise awareness and support policies that protect funding for nutrition programs for children. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn
  • Volunteer your time - whether it's at TABLE, another hunger-relief organization, or the food bank, your time makes a direct impact on local children and families in need.

Thank you for your trust through this time of uncertainty. With your help, we’ll keep delivering more than just meals - we’ll keep delivering hope, dignity, and stability to the children who need it most.

With deep gratitude,

Ashton Tippins
