A Comment about Ginger and the Academy | | |

What a Difference the Academy Makes
Good morning and a shout out to my favorite artist and teacher, Ginger, and her academy. The first painting is from August 2017, when I first started on my own; not so good...LOL. The other paintings below are from the Academy with Personal Art Coaching (PAC).
I discovered Ginger on YouTube and joined her academy in 2018...I have learned about composition, lights & darks, contrasts, colors, and so much more.
When I first joined Ginger's Facebook group, I admired so many wonderful artists here, thinking I'll never get their skill level and talent, but with time, lots of practice, and Ginger's tutorials and help, I am getting there.
THANK YOU, Ginger Cook Jon, and all the moderators for all you have done and continue to do.

How to get FINE Detail Lines in your Artwork
Select the appropriate canvas grade for the project. If you know you will want fine details in your painting, the first step is to purchase the right canvas.
Having said that, keeping a few tiny bottles of Golden Fluid acrylics on hand is usually a smart idea. I have yellow oxide, black, burnt umber, and white. It simplifies drawing fine details on a rough or smooth surface. The second trick is to cover the area you want the detail in with a layer of mat medium. The medium will smooth out the needed detail areas and fill in any dips in the canvas.
