Art & Faith: Make Something Beautiful

There is something deeply satisfying about creating with our hands—loop by loop, stitch by stitch. This special Art & Faith Saturday invites you into the creative world of knitting and crocheting alongside Tab members whose shawl ministry offers handmade gifts of comfort and care to new moms. During this beginner-friendly morning, you will learn a few basics of fiber art, enjoy the fellowship of others, and leave with a charming three-dimensional owl or bird of your own. No experience is necessary—just a willingness to try, create, and spend a morning discovering how art, patience, and generosity can be woven together.

Inquirers Class

Would you like to learn more about what Tab is all about? Would you like to learn more about what we believe, what we do, and why do it? Are you interested in becoming a member? If so, we invite you to come to our Inquirers Class on Sunday, October 4th. We will meet from 11:15 am – 1:00 pm in the library. A light lunch will be provided. We will share about our history, our mission, our vision, our beliefs, our ministries, and how you can get involved. You will have a chance to ask any question that’s on your mind and there is no obligation to join. We hope to see you there!

Sunday In The Parlor: Raphael Health Center

Please join us to hear from Sherry Gray, Chief Executive Officer of the Raphael Health Center located across the street from Tab. Tab is a founding partner for the Center since 1994 when Tab members, responding to a community need for health care, began utilizing health professionals to provide medical care to Mapleton Fall Creek and beyond. Today Raphael is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) receiving government grants and is recognized as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) meaning that patients can have all their healthcare needs met in one location. Sherry will describe the current scope of Raphael’s services and will give updates on how some of the donations from Tab have helped them purchase an eye examination machine which is giving people new opportunities for improved sight and improved lives. Please join us to hear about these life-enriching ministries.

50th Annual Deacons' Golf Classic

Get ready to swing for something BIG at the 2026 Tab Deacons’ Golf Classic! This year’s tournament will feature an exciting Hole-In-One Contest, giving every golfer at the event a chance to win an incredible prize. Want to enter? It’s easy! Your registration for the Golf Classic automatically serves as your entry into the Hole-In-One Contest. All you have to do is step up to the designated par 3 hole, take your shot, and see if you can make golf’s most exciting shot—a hole-in-one!

This opportunity is open to any golfer participating in the Golf Classic, so whether you’re a seasoned player or simply looking to have a great time on the course, you’ll have a chance to take your shot at history. And the prize? It’s going to be bigger than anything we’ve done before! If a golfer successfully scores a hole-in-one on the designated hole, both the church and the winning golfer will receive a matching cash gift of $20,000!

So start practicing, sharpen your swing, and get warmed up. You won’t want to miss your chance to make an unforgettable shot—and take home a prize that could make this year’s Golf Classic one to remember! Get ready. Get set.

Donaldson's: "60 Years of Sweetness"

Donaldson’s Finer Chocolates, a second-generation family business, will be celebrating “Sixty Years of Sweetness” at the chocolate shop in Lebanon, Indiana on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 1-4pm.

The celebration at Donaldson’s Finer Chocolates, located at 600 S. State Road 39, at the intersection of I-65 and State Road 39, will have free admission and be open to the public and media. A 10% discount will be applied to all chocolates purchased and taken home the day of the celebration. Events include chocolate sampling, raffle drawings, kids’ activities, entertainment by local magician, Marc Lehmann, and live music by Pavel and Direct Contact.

All are welcome to bring lawn chairs. Scott Diggity Dogs food truck will be on site, and opportunities to support the Boys and Girls Club of Boone County will be available at the event. A brief presentation by the owners, Bob and Kathy Donaldson, is scheduled for 3pm.

Bob’s parents, the late George and Peg Donaldson, purchased the business from Charles and Eva Callane in October of 1966. The business was located in a two-room schoolhouse about a mile north of Lebanon. The Donaldsons relocated the shop to its current location in 1973.

“It has been a pleasure to serve the tens of thousands of customers who have purchased our home-made chocolates over the past 60 years. We have continued to make our chocolates the old-fashioned way – with only the finest of ingredients and a lot of Hoosier pride. It’s a difference you taste immediately and never forget.”

Parents' Night Out!

All Tab families are invited to bring their infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary students to Tab on Friday, October 16 for Parents Night Out. While parents hit the town (or maybe just take a nap!) we'll have crafts, games, a movie (with popcorn, of course), and make our own healthy snack with the elementary students, and we'll have a separate childcare room for the 4-and-under crowd.

Thanks to All Who Have Purchased Books

The Church that Stayed and Sacred Lights books are available for sale through October 4, from 9–10am Sundays in McKee Hallway. Each book is $25, but if both books are purchased together, the price is $40, with all proceeds from the sale of the books supporting the window restoration fund.

Help Us Tell Tab's Story: Join the Media Ministry Team!

Are you interested in technology, video, or learning something new? Our Media Ministry is looking for volunteers who would like to learn how to operate our production software, ProPresenter, during worship services and special events. No previous experience is necessary—we’ll provide the training! It’s as simple as pressing a spacebar! This is a great behind-the-scenes opportunity to serve, develop new skills, and help create a meaningful worship experience for everyone in the Sanctuary and those joining us online.

Blankets for the Blessing Table

It’s time for our annual blanket event at the Open Door Cafe’s Blessing Table! Help us keep our neighbors warm as the temperatures change. Join us in our tradition of providing new or gently used, laundered blankets. The best size is queen, please. You may drop them off in the mailroom in the bin under the staff mailboxes through November 1. We’ll offer the blankets to our friends the first week of November.

BINGO is on a BREAK until Spring!

Tab Rec Bingo has been a great time and we are looking forward to its return after the new year! There WILL NOT be

Tab Rec Bingo in the next few months.

Hike at Fort Harrison

Step into the crisp beauty of October and enjoy a morning of conversation, fresh air, and fellowship as the Spiritual Growth Team hosts a fall hike at Fort Harrison State Park. Whether you are an avid walker or simply looking for a relaxed way to connect with others from Tab, this outing offers a wonderful chance to be outdoors together and enjoy one of central Indiana’s most beautiful parks.

Fort Harrison’s wooded landscape carries both beauty and history. Shaped by glaciers more than 12,000 years ago, the park’s rolling uplands, ravines, forests, and Fall Creek pathways create a setting that invites both reflection and friendship. We’ll gather at 10am and choose from two trail options, allowing you to select the walk that best fits your pace and comfort level.

After the hike, those who would like to continue the fellowship are invited to gather for lunch at a nearby Panera. Come enjoy a morning of movement, conversation, and the goodness of autumn together.

Women's Retreat

Please join the Women of Tab (and friends) for a special retreat from 8:30am- 3pm on Saturday, October 24th at the Peace Learning Center at Eagle Creek Park.

Prayer is the most critical part of our walk with the Lord and we will have a special time exploring how we can improve our prayer life while enjoying the beauty of the park. Sign up in the McKee Chapel hallway, or email womenoftab@tabpres.org.

Cost is $25 and will cover a light breakfast and lunch. Please sign up by October 18. The venue is limited to 70 people so sign up early!
