This is National Pedestrian Safety Month - Even More Important For Golf
|
October is National Pedestrian Safety Month, a timely reminder for everyone in our village, where walking along the side of the road is common due to the lack of sidewalks. Pedestrian safety is even more critical here, and drivers play a key role in ensuring the well-being of residents who walk, jog, or cycle along village roads.
Drivers are urged to slow down, and be mindful of people walking close to the roadway. Always yield to pedestrians and give them plenty of space when passing. It’s important to stay alert and avoid distractions, especially when turning corners or approaching intersections.
Additionally, reducing speed during low-light hours and maintaining vigilance can help prevent accidents. By following these simple safety tips, we can all contribute to making the village a safer place for everyone, particularly during Pedestrian Safety Month.

Your Dog, Your Trash: Keep It Out of Your Neighbor's Bin
|
A reminder to all dog walkers: please refrain from placing your pet's waste in other people's garbage cans. While it may seem convenient, it can cause issues. Bags can break, leaving waste to soil the inside of the cans, which is unpleasant for homeowners and creates unnecessary cleanup.
It's simply not courteous to use someone else's garbage bin for this purpose. Everyone deserves to have their property, including their trash cans, treated with respect. Instead, please carry it home to your own garbage.

Q: How long have you worked in the Village of Golf?
Q: Can you briefly describe the work you do for the Village?
- I work to maintain the water plant, the water lines and the sewer lines in the village.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
- There is so much to know about maintaining a safe water system, and I love the fact that this job always has something to teach.
Q: What can be the most challenging thing about your job?

Q: What is something in your personal life you are most proud of?
- My kids, of course. I have a 12 year old son and a nine year old daughter.
Q: Do you have a message for Village residents?
- Every day, I always keep in mind how important the job is, and it is my pleasure to serve the residents of Golf.
