One of the greatest joys of my job is getting to watch our children and youth grow up in this church. I get to see them ask big questions, form friendships, discover their gifts, serve others, laugh nonstop, eat an entire pizza in one sitting, and slowly begin to figure out what faith means for them.

But none of that happens because of one pastor or one program. It happens because of all of us. It happens because one person volunteers in Sunday School. One person serves as a Faith Partner to a Confirmand. One person gives generously so that a teenager can go on a service trip regardless of what their family can afford. One person remembers a child’s name, asks a teenager how their week was, or simply shows up and reminds them that they belong here.

That is what The Power of One means to me. Each individual gift may seem small on its own, but when we bring those gifts together, we become the church. We create a community where our children and youth know they are loved—not only by God, but by an entire congregation that is invested in who they are becoming. I am so grateful to be part of a church that understands that raising our children in faith is something we do together. Your generosity makes that possible, and I get to see the impact of it every single day.
