Dear Friends,

As the new year approaches, I cannot be more excited to begin a new cycle as Executive Director and Chief Curator of Storefront for Art and Architecture, where I began my career as an intern over a decade ago. As you can imagine, a lot has changed between then and now.

Since its founding in 1982, Storefront has always pushed the boundaries of art and architecture, presenting innovative programs informed by the built environment. Our gallery space at 97 Kenmare Street in SoHo transitioned from a tire shop to an iconic facade in what is now a version of New York City that is virtually unrecognizable from what it was when we first moved in.

In this new era, Storefront will continue to question and present the stories of our built environment and of those who inhabit it. We will conduct  observations  of our surroundings, examine the  foundations  that support us, question the  enclosures  that reinforce our identities, and explore alternative modes of  inhabitation  that reimagine our physical and social worlds.

As part of this effort, we seek to understand the notion of building as both place and process, with all the complexity that this entails. I hope you’ll support us in this mission, and I personally invite you to  join us as a member  or make your  annual end-of-year contribution  to Storefront for Art and Architecture in advance of our next cycle of existence.

We’re excited to share more with you in the new year. Thank you for your generosity, and my best wishes for 2019!
