Eaglecrest Golf Course Lands

Public Hearing

October 6

As part of the conditional agreement to purchase the Eaglecrest Golf Course lands, the Town is currently undertaking its due diligence process. The proposed Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaw amendments are part of this due diligence process to ensure that the lands (outlined in the map below) may be sold for residential development.

Before any zoning can move forward, a public hearing is necessary to gather input from the public on the proposed changes. If the purchase is not advanced, the required bylaws will revert back to the original zoning and OCP designations. The agreement remains subject to public consultation, technical assessments and due diligence.

Public Hearing

Monday October 6, at 2:00 pm

Civic Centre, 747 Jones Street, Qualicum Beach

The public hearing will consider two bylaw amendments:

  • Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 800.08, 2025. This would amend the Official Community Plan (OCP) designation for the subject lands.
  • Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 900.06, 2025. This would add two new land use zones, Institutional Residential 1 (IR1) and Neighbourhood Residential Commercial 1 (NRC1), and change the zoning of subject properties

View the related notice and report on the Town’s website and at Town Hall between September 22 and October 6. For questions, contact the Planning Department at 250.752.6921 or planning@qualicumbeach.com.

Off-Leash Park Etiquette

Our Community Park off-leash trails are places where both people and dogs can enjoy nature together. To make sure everyone has a safe and positive experience, we ask all trail users to follow a few simple guidelines:

  • Expect to find dogs running, playing and barking.
  • Announce when you approach other trail users from behind ("coming up behind").
  • Use caution when approaching dogs and walk if necessary.
  • Avoid aggressive behaviour toward dogs.

By showing courtesy and awareness, we can keep our trails safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for all users.
