Can you believe July is already behind us? Between the heat and all the excitement, it flew by for everyone we talked to. If you need a little breather after all the festivities, you have earned it!
First, a huge thank you to everyone who celebrated our 30th Anniversary with us. It was such a joy seeing so many familiar faces (and meeting new ones!) throughout the week. Congratulations to our three lucky $100 gift card winners: Cindy R, Cindy K, and Lori K! We are not ready to let the celebration end, so we are keeping the party going all the way through the rest of the year. Kicking things off, our Halloween fabric and Tim Holtz fabric will be 30% off all through August. It is the perfect time to stock up and get those spooky projects started early. Keep an eye out for more surprises and sales as we celebrate all the way to December.

The Quilt Across the Dakotas Shop Hop is in full swing and runs through August 28. Judging by the first two weeks, quilters are hitting the road in a big way and making the most of the friendships and fun this hop is known for. If you have not started your journey yet, there is still time to join in.
And a quick note for our Strip Club regulars: enjoy your last month of summer break! We will see you back in September, ready to strip, stitch, and catch up.

Did you know there's convenient, covered public parking just steps from our front door?
Here's everything you need to know about parking in the garage off St. Joseph and 5th Street.
If you've ever circled the block looking for a spot near the shop, we've got good news: there's an easy parking option you may not know about.
Just around the corner from Quilt Connection is a public parking garage with its entrance off St. Joseph Street and 5th Street. The garage has two levels of public parking, and the cost is the same as you'd pay at a meter — except you won't have to worry about running out of time. Instead of feeding quarters into a meter, you simply take a ticket when you pull in and pay when you leave. No clock-watching, no dashing outside mid-project to add more coins.
The garage is well-lit and monitored by security cameras, so it's a safe and comfortable option any time of day.

Getting from the garage to the shop is simple:
- Park on either of the two public levels.
- Head into the hotel from the garage.
- Take the elevator up to the main level.
- Turn right as you step out of the elevator and follow the hall to the main lobby.
- Exit through the main doors and cross the street — you'll see us right there!
This is also just a genuinely nice way to park in any season. In the heat of summer, your car stays shaded and cool while you shop. In the winter, you can skip the scraping and brushing off snow and ice altogether.
Next time you're headed our way, give the garage a try. We hope it makes your visit to Quilt Connection just a little easier.

Beginning Quilting Class
Come learn the basics of quilting while constructing a small baby quilt. You will leave this class knowing how to choose and use thread, needles, cutters and rules, and how to choose the best fabrics for your project. You will learn how to construct a nine patch and half square triangle blocks and how strip piecing makes block construction easy and fast! All of this is done while meeting new people and enjoying being a part of the quilt community in a small group. Space is limited so sign up soon! Only 8 seats available.

Beginning Quilting Class
Learn to machine quilt on your home machine. If you have ever wanted to give machine quilting on your home machine a try, this is the class for you! You will learn how to set up your space, put your quilt sandwich together, and a number of quilting designs to stitch out. Shape by Shape by Angela Walters Book is recommended but not necessary to take the class.

Easy Angle Border Battle
A pieced border workshop
Which border will be your favorite? In this class we will use the Easy Angle and Companion Angle to piece several border which you might use around a favorite single block or a pretty panel. Maybe you are part of a Round Robin group and you need some new ideas for the next round. This class will help you! When our day is done, you will have 18” samples which could be put together as a table runner or simply a set of samples, ready to inspire the edges of your next quilt.

You don't want to miss stitching this summer. Our wooly friend and instructor Monica will be popping in to stitch with us!
Please note: This is not a class, and no formal instruction in wool appliqué will be provided. This event is for stitchers to gather, enjoy, and work on their own wool appliqué projects in a fun, social setting.

UFO Pizza Night
Join us for an evening of sewing with friends, where you're free to work at your own pace on any project that sparks your creativity. Whether you're arranging blocks from years past, hand piecing or doing wool appliqué, even cross stitch, come get those UFO’s off the shelf and finished!
Cost includes pizza and the space to work, but please bring your own drink in a securely sealed cup. If you have allergies, feel free to bring your own food for a worry-free experience. Let's finish up those UFO’s and socialize together!
Must register so we can plan space accordingly and know how much pizza to order! Please let us know if you will need machine space or hand project seating.
We're excited to see this group of sewers come together to tackle some of your overdue projects!
