Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:

As we hear the reports of the devastating wildfires in Spokane in the State of Washington, I cannot help be remember the destruction of the Palisades and Eaton Fires. Rebuilding has been underway.

Habitat for Humanity plans to participate in a four-day rebuilding event focused on helping wildfire victims return home in the Pacific Palisades and Malibu from September 23 - 26.

Often overlooked in the recovery story are hundreds of low-income households from Pacific Palisades and Malibu who lost their homes and remain displaced today. Habitat LA is working with these longtime residents to rebuild.

Community members from throughout LA will work together to rebuild and complete critical repairs and improvements on impacted homes and community spaces, including landscaping, exterior repairs, and neighborhood revitalization projects.

Our parish will help!

Our goal for participation is $25,000. Please make a contribution at masses this weekend or on our parish website: Habitat for Humanity Build.

Rick Bisetti who coordinates our parish participation with Habitat will offer a short presentation at masses with more information.

Peace and blessings,

Father Gil
