ICEBOX GALLERY is preparing for an exciting and evolving experience in 2025! The gallery's commitment to offering more than just design or home decor is clear, and this next exhibit, unfolding over 100 days, promises to be something truly unique.

We just wrapped up a well attended and much loved year-long exhibit dedicated to Marc Norberg's personal photography.

Next an exciting pivot for ICEBOX, transitioning from a personal photography exhibit to a timely and politically charged exploration. Focusing on the effects of politics through my art made during the first 100 days of a new presidency.

The exhibit, which will be created from January 20 through April 30, 2025, is a personal artistic exploration of the political and social events that define this pivotal period in American history.

Christopherson will create a new, one-of-a-kind 6x6 inch piece of art every day, with each piece inspired by the events of the day and his own emotional and intellectual reactions.

These daily works will be framed, matted and glazed at 8x8 inches and displayed in the gallery within the same week they are created.

Each framed unique piece will be offered for sale throughout the exhibit. The pieces will remain on exhibit thru 2025.

This is a self-funded initiative, and you can help support it by selecting and purchasing any of the available one-of-a-kind pieces.

Each artwork will be enclosed in an archival-quality frame with a 1 inch mat, uv glass, and will be signed and dated by the artist.

Each piece is priced at $135.00, plus sales tax of $12.18, for a total of $147.18.

For domestic shipping and handling, an additional $20.00 will be added.

Artwork can be claimed or shipped from January 2 to January 18, 2026.

“The first reason I am embarking on this 100-day art project is that it gives me a small place to react to something big,” says Christopherson.

“After Donald Trump won the 2024 election, I felt empty and in shock. The country I had lived in all my life seemed disturbingly different from what I had hoped it would be.

After living through his first term, I thought his ever-present image in the media would slowly fade. I was convinced that he would be held accountable for his actions, but instead, the American people voted him into the highest office again.”

“I have no idea how or what I will create during these 100 days,” Christopherson continues. “What I do know is that I will channel my thoughts, my reactions, and my emotions through whatever medium I choose each day. This work is not meant to be a political cartoon or a direct commentary on any single issue, but more of a visual diary—an intimate expression of my inner world as an American citizen living through this time.”

~Howard M. Christopherson

I am excited to have this chance to return to my roots in drawing, collage, and painting as well as digital photography. Everything will be focused in on a 6 X 6 inch space and completed in one day.

Each week we will install the growing exhibit of 8 x 8 inch matted & framed artwork. The gallery can be visited by appointment during the production and pieces can be purchased.

Art can often serve as a mirror to the times, capturing both the tension and the promise of change. By framing the exhibit within the first 100 days, ICEBOX may draw attention to how quickly those early actions can shape not only political realities but the emotional and cultural undertones of a nation.

The First 100 Days period has been a symbolically significant benchmark in U.S. presidential history since Franklin D. Roosevelt’s first term, offering a lens through which to gauge the early successes and challenges of a presidency.

Given the charged political climate, this exhibit may spark vital conversations around how art can influence or critique governance, the role of personal expression in times of political upheaval, and what the "first 100 days" really mean both politically and artistically.

A public discussion might be held during the year long exhibit. If you have ideas or want to help create this panel discusion please make contact.
