Canadian Orthopaedic Care Day

Wednesday, March 26, 2025

Join us on Wednesday, March 26 for the Fourth Annual Canadian Orthopaedic Care Day

On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, the Fourth Annual Canadian Orthopaedic Care Day will bring together surgeons, nurses, allied health professionals, policymakers, industry leaders, and the public to highlight the importance of musculoskeletal health, access to orthopaedic care, and the future of mobility for all Canadians.

This year’s theme, “Bridging Generations in Orthopaedic Care,” focuses on mentorship, collaboration, and preparing early-career surgeons to meet the growing demand for orthopaedic care in Canada.

Why This Matters More Than Ever

  • Canada’s population is aging rapidly—as of July 1, 2024, 7.8 million Canadians were 65 or older, and by 2036, seniors could make up 25% of the population (Statistics Canada).

  • Mobility disabilities are rising—in 2022, 10.6% of Canadians aged 15+ (over 3.1 million people) reported mobility disabilities, and among seniors aged 65+, 63% experience mobility challenges (Statistics Canada).

  • MSK conditions are one of the leading causes of disability in Canada, impacting pain, mobility, and flexibility in older adults (Statistics Canada).
