Welcome to September and Fall,
Weatherwise, it still is getting hot here in Arizona but it's a bit cooler in the mornings and the sun is coming up later and going down earlier. In Alaska, the trees could be bare or will be soon, the garden has been harvested and it is dark enough to see the stars again at night.
I like this time of year as I have grown tired of my summer wardrobe and looking forward to wearing longer sleeves. I also begin thinking of what can I knit other than tee tops.
Of course September is a special month as I celebrate my birthday with my twin, my wombmate. We have decided we came together because we had so much to accomplish that it would take two. So Happy birthday La Dona.
Fall seems to be a big time for many knit designers and dyers. I am getting several notices about new colors and new patterns. Stephan West is starting his kick off for his annual Mkal (MYSTERY KNIT ALONG). I'm waiting for more information before I decide if I will do it this year. I know he is using two contrasting colors but no other details yet. humm Malabrigo is having a KAL (no mystery). It will be a shawl in Rios (worsted) in two colors. Tempting.
I just received my September Pop Up color from Dream In Color. It's always fun to see what it will be. I am also expecting a shipment of new yarn from Knitting Fever the end of September early October. It's funny, but I order them so early in the year, I forget exactly what I ordered. It's like having Christmas everytime a box arrives. I will definitely let you know.
I have not finished another project since my last newsletter but I continue to work on the Elton Cardigan by Joji Locatelli and the Inside Story pullover by Heidi Kirrmaier. I'm also considering making a huggable frog for those who aren't interested in making a support chicken. I'll let you know how it works out.
Enjoy the changes of Fall and come by and say hi soon.
