Bronco families,
It is with great joy and gratitude that I write to you as we approach the end of another school year. It's hard to believe but students will be taking finals soon, and some will even be celebrating at our Drive-In Commencement! Whether this is your students first time taking finals or their last I'd like to congratulate you on all of the amazing support you've given them!
Whether your journey has just begun, or you're about to celebrate your student's graduation, you all have a lot to be proud of. You also have a lot of knowledge about life as a student supporter at Cal Poly Pomona. I'm sure there are things you wish you would have known when you were new, and probably even more that you've learned along the way that has helped you and your students. I know incoming families would benefit from your expertise, so I'm asking for any tips, tricks, or advice that you would like to pass along to our incoming families. It doesn't have to be anything long or fancy, just 1-5 sentences worth of your hard-earned knowledge. Submissions will be featured on our Bronco Family website and should be sent to brocnofamily@cpp.edu for inclusion.

University Library Updates
Cal Poly Pomona is proud to offer a new service for safe and convenient pick up of library materials, the 24/7 Bronco Lockers. Located between Parking Lot G & the Bronco Bookstore, the Bronco Lockers are available to students 24/7, allowing for a contactless campus pick up on their schedule. Users must complete the Safer Return Checklist and appropriate Daily Health Screener each time prior to coming to campus, and review and comply with campus safety protocols. All students need to do is search for the book they need on the library website and select “24/7 Locker” for pickup. Users will then be notified when their item is available for pick up. Check out www.cpp.edu/lockers for more information, or email libcirc@cpp.edu

The University Library is also excited to announce that it will reopen as a “by reservation” study space to support students nearing finals. The pilot will run Sunday, May 2 – Friday, May 21. Students can reserve a study space or computer workstation at the University Library website. During this period, the library will continue to provide services virtually and physical materials at the Bronco Lockers

Bronco Family Academy
At Cal Poly Pomona, our learn by doing motto is about making sure students are learning in an active environment where they are surrounded by a support group. So, we'll be hosting another great virtual workshop that will focus on how you can become champions for student success. It will highlight the "Stuff They Didn't Teach You in School" professional development series of seminars that's hosted by the College of Engineering in collaboration with the Dean's Leadership Board. This series focuses on the skills that students need to prepare, interview, accept, and negotiate a job.
Join us on on Zoom on Monday, June 7th at 5:30pm to learn about this great program and its “Digital Badge" that students receive after participating in each seminar. You'll get to hear directly from students and staff about how it all helps increase the chances of getting an internship while also preparing students for their journey from high school, to college, to the workforce.

Instant Access to Required Textbooks
The Instant Access (IA) program that is offered exclusively through our Bronco Bookstore guarantees all students in participating classes have their required textbooks at the same time, at the same low price by automatically providing access via online e-books linked to the course by the first day of class. IA costs much less than traditional printed books because materials are digital and the costs are billed to students university accounts. Students can opt out of this program and have the related charges removed if they desire. visit the Bronco Bookstore website.
