SO MANY WAYS TO SERVE

North High School

GET TO KNOW FINDLEY COMMUNITY

LEARNING CENTER

If you've never volunteered at Findley CLC before, you may not be aware of just how special this school is. Here are some fun facts about this amazing school in North Hill:

There are 24 countries represented in the student population at Findley CLC this year. They include: USA, Afghanistan, Burundi, Bangladesh, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jordan, Kenya, Mexico, Myanmar, Malawi, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Peru, State of Palestine, Rwanda, El Salvador, Thailand, Turkey, Tanzania, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe!

As of late September, there are 522 students enrolled and 7 language interpreters to help the students.

The staff, students, and families at Findley CLC are very appreciative of First Serve's presence in the building. Already this year, we have made an impact!

First Serve treated all 80 staff members to a continental breakfast for their all-day meeting prior to students returning to school.

First Serve supplied Krispy Kreme donuts for Findley Community Learning Center's Parents Walk to School Day on September 17.

First Serve provided snacks and juice to the Findley school health clinic.

If you'd like to be involved at Findley CLC, there are plenty of opportunities. Contact Site Coordinator Jane Penny at vnd832@apslearns.org for more information.

THANK YOU FOR CRAMMING THE CART

To everyone who helped cram the carts with donated clothing, coats, shoes, and new underwear...thank you! All donated clothing was sorted and distributed to clothing rooms at Harris- Jackson CLC, North High School, and 915 Clothing Room. School leaders are so grateful for this resource for their students.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

First Serve Annual Day of Service may have already happened for 2026, but that doesn't mean we have to stop serving our neighbors in North Hill.

Case in point, Carol Bailey has volunteered to help support the Findley school garden. "If you see her in the garden, give her a warm Findley hello! Thanks to Jane Penny and First Serve, the garden will be receiving some extra love with management and maintenance by Carol, a dedicated volunteer.

A huge thanks to Jane, Carol, and First Serve for their support to our school. It takes a village to support our students, and you are a part of our village.”
